Communication?

Just noticed no one talks in this game ( PC ) at all. I get it is not squad … but some commo be nice. I hope they can implement something in this to force …or persuade communication. Like mini objectives and main objectives. Causing a tug o war type game mode. Players need to communicate to achieve victory. Idk …what do you all think? I want to see this game do well. I really enjoy it , but I miss the teamwork and communication from other fps games I play. I think this game could do really well in the realism genre and blow up in popularity.

While chat is usually silent, I´m mostly pleased to see, that when I ask to mark a target for bombing or tank, somebody usually responds by placing “v” on map (happens less often on artillery requests). Perhaps a quick predefined voice communication (again, WT copy) would encourage people to cooperate through chat more, but on the other hand I don´t really see the way how to implement it (in WT it makes sense through communication device in vehicles, but on infantry everyone would have to equip squad with radioman?)

Yeah I mean it could just be a generalized commo for all actual players. I think if they added main objectives and mini objective it would add communication more . For instance objective A is bunker x , but side objectives for Objective A could be clearing radio tower and destroying a cache. They would be relatively spread out. So it would divert the blobs and also encourage communication to seize each objective in order to progress. Likewise for defenders .

Be the change you want to see, honestly. Start talking in chat and getting people engaged, because people will pick up on it and join in on it. I’ve had games where everyone appeared to be hanging outside of a cap point, farming kills. Wasn’t until someone said ‘Rush the cap’ in chat that they remembered to actually move in.

Markers are becoming less common I’ve noticed. Lots of people don’t mark tanks anymore, and huge blobs of enemies aren’t being properly marked. I’m guilty of the latter myself too, though.

Again, I never have much faith in public voice chat being more than noise, between open mics and people doing nothing but bitching. Actual teamwork over public voice chat is exceedingly rare.

I like the pre-canned communication system like War Thunder has.

how do you ask for a target? I have great trouble identifying targets from the air until i get a bit more familiar with each scenario and which way the lines are running etc…

It works well in quite a few games but is dependent on the maturity of the community. Squad , HLL, Arma, post scriptum , rising storm , red orchestra… it absolutely works and works well.

“if someone wants air support, mark targets and i will bomb them”

Most times , at least from what I’ve seen the map is littered with icons of enemy. That should suffice

Yeah but how do you type that for everyone to see?? I haven’t found the chat.

And no - most times the map has NO enemy icons that I can see!! :frowning:

Damn , that’s shitty man. I always see people pinging enemies. I have yet to fly though so maybe its a bug where if you are in the air you can’t see the enemy ping ? Idk

Even on the ground I don’t see many people marking anything - usually the only marks in any given game are tanks I’ve marked!

Damn lol. I justed played like 5 games and each time it was pretty consistent with markers. Especially tanks and emplacements.

everyone can see it, just whoever does either doesn’t care or isn’t able to do what you’re asking.

Everyone can see WHAT??

Text chat, LOS markers, and map markers. Everyone on your team can see them.

Like I said, I’m cynical towards my teammates because it’s usually something stupid like “everybody work together to try shooting down this stuka that hasn’t been a threat to anything all game”

You are not understanding me - I don’t see how to use text chat in the first place - where is it in the screen of menu??

press enter and you can start typing, then press enter again to send it.
