Common Sense Soldier Movement Reform

Gentlemen, there is no doubt that Enlisted has an incredible movement system in Enlisted. You can climb just about anything you want if you can jump high enough and are not limited to exploring buildings. But I find one thing missing that would make it feel complete, diving for cover.

Like in the two videos above, sprinting and then rapidly pressing the prone button is the easiest way to trigger the dive mechanic. Of course, you won’t be able to shoot while diving since the soldier is actively bracing for impact, but it would be extremely effective in attempting to escape a grenade or explosive, getting to a foxhole, etc. I have tested the buttons required (I changed the controls to Enlisted controls) in the game from the second video (Rising Storm 2). I use it frequently when I need cover quickly while under enemy fire, so its usefulness is unrivaled against sprinting to cover and pressing prone just to drop straight down. I believe the majority of players will find this useful and will have a positive impact on the game.

No, just no people spend more time crawling then walking, you give up the belly crawl you can have dive but if people spend this much time in ww2 on the stomach elbow and knee pads would have been standard issue

No one spends large amounts of time crawling since sprinting is the fastest way to move; what makes you think that will change with a diving mechanic?

Personally I think on deleting the reload fetaure while running, but I would add the ability to run while crouching can be a good adition

let alone while charging, it’s especially ridiculous

I swear that people here will reject any suggestion that improves the movement or any suggestion that adds some flavor to it because… reasons??

It amazes me every time I see it. Perhaps they think HLL is fun when their sprint speed is as fast as David Ortiz doing his homerun job lol.

all ideas who try make suggestions who are against zerg rush are bad for players, look my recent posts about defensive tactics and how they yelled us

prolly because he got denied so many times with his own ( for actual good reasons though ), so he replicates.

because enlisted has 2 camps of people, one of them are atmosphere & immersion players, like us, we like to bring the game onto another level, and then there’s second camp which is basically players who just want to see a lot of red X’s, skulls and kill strikes on screen. We never get along as our ideas collide with each other.

Although movement improvements is just must have, i mean the game is developing, keeping the game plane and simple just because it caters to arcade players isn’t reason why we should keep it this way.

The game needs to gain more depth, more factors need to come into play, right now the game is fine but it’s still too simple and because of that running full speed and shooting is the best tactic, i don’t like that and i look forward for it to change.

Supression mechanic would be the best answer imo, it would make players stick more to cover as you never know when you’re gonna be under fire, which would help with the immersion, nobody in their right mind would just run mindlessly in the open etc.

we could have immersive, atmospheric yet still pretty arcade shooter which would be perfect imo.

No, I hate diving. Especially since it would be extremely overused. It looks ridiculous. And it’s way worse than leaning on open.

well you are plying another game than me i see at least 20 percent of the enemy crawling over half the map

Too fast movement speed destroys gameplay because of peakers advantage.

Enlisted is already more than fast enough.

Suppression mechanic that lets you have even more deviation is terrible - blurry vision could be nice though

You must hate living as well?

Diving for cover speeds up gameplay and not small maps?

There is a technical limit to movement speed, when you can die though being long behind cover.

Enlisted is pretty much at limit, especially when looking at people spamming the leaning button non stop.

Yeah. He just posted random pictures and said add this

Does diving for cover speed up gameplay?

Well not necessarily, as long as those dives aren’t abused to shoot people around corners.

Still, you can drop rather quickly anyways.
