BF4 had the right idea. Commander mode in enlisted could allow for âhelpful suggestionsâ rather then actually ordering players around. For example Commander would have unlimited markers and they would also last as long as Commander needs them to. They could set markers where they want engi to build and if engi builds it everyone gets bonus xp etc. In same way they could set âbountiesâ for enemy targets/vehicles/players they want prioritized etc.
We could have both if snail wills it.
The idea of a commander
Reminds me of BF2 and where com, got in, and had a over view of game, drops supplyâs etc, scanned for infantry, diff other things too, worked well, and if you doing a good job, you didnât get kicked out by vote.
But yeah as some mention, there would be a few problems for this game.
Loved the commander In BF 2. spotting, UAV dropping supplies, transports, artillery.
I could see it being adapted for enlisted. HLL and Squad 44 has a pretty decent commander too.
Knew i had forgotton some good features
It was kind of cool because you had no Fog of WarâŚyou could zoom right in and find a sniper camping in the grass up and a hill, and specifically mark him for your team lol. (at least thats what I remember)
and then try to drop a supply crate or transport on him
There are cool game mechanics that have been around for decades
Yeah it was pretty awesome, the times i did manage to get in, and be commander, and stay the whole game
So true this , thanks for memory
Sad even after 20 years, you think, people would be trying to use certain things that worked 20 years ago, and yet they cant introduce such things 20y later, with improvements.
I know right? After 20 years you would think things would be standard issue
certainly feels like current standard issue is half of what we used to getâŚ(unless you play indie games and modsâŚsoo good)
At least in an average AAA game we have 200 bilion weapon and soldier skins.
I donât know how they make games any better but ppl buy them so apparently it works.
You guys know the drill, necropost
