Clarity on Tanker perks please

I’d like a bit of clarity on tank perks.

Some are obvious like the ‘gunner’ perk for gun handling, or the ‘loader’ perk for swapping shells.
I assume that those perks only work when you assign that perk to a tanker who does that job.

However there are common perks like 90% gear shift, is this perk culmative, i.e. if you have 5 x tankers with the 90% gear shift do you get 450% speed on gear shift.

There’s also the breaking perk, the seat swap perk. Repair perk (both speed and no of uses of toolkit), fire extinguishing perk, durability of repair perk.

Just like a bit more clarity so I know if I’m wasting perks or not, cheers. :slight_smile:

I have been testing this out with my Normandy tank squad. What I have noticed is that the perks are just for the individual soldier when they are in the position to use it.

So for example a tanker with the gunner perk but NOT in the gunner spot will not provide the bonus. The same goes for breaking speed, gear shift speed etc. So when putting a perk on a tanker, be sure they will be in a position to effectively use it.

Additionally, I believe that some of the tanker perks are not working as they should (such as the loader perk) but it is something the devs are still working on.

Overall, I love the perk system. Alone, one perk doesnt do much but when you add all the bonuses together, you can really get a super soldier.

the answers to your following questions:

no. this is only applied to the guy that has this perk and it’s in the DRIVER sit.

otherwise, if you think about it, others crew mates in other sits, cannot physicially benefict from the perk, as they are not driving the tank.

break perk, is to avoid the situation where even if your tank is upgraded, tends to slide over time instead of stopping. must be assigned to the driver as well, otherwise it’s going to be pointless.

the seat swep perk is actually usefull and everyone can benefict from no matter their " job " is.
( reduced the times of swapping sits if some of the member is missing. example, from commander to gunner, or gunner to driver. )

the speed, helps to make it somewhat faster.

and the no “uses toolkit” it makes the tool kit usable twice for box.

so, after the first repair, with this perk, it will not disappear.

it will, only after the second usage instead of the first like every normal toobox without the perk.

the extighuish perk, improves time as well. making it more faster for those who are going to stinguish the flame.

and this last one, improves the " health " of your repairs.

let’s say your tracks has been damaged, or your breach, normally it would bring them to orange. with this perk, it will turn them into yellow. ( more durability for the parts ).

As an addition to Erika,

After some parts are dmged and you repair them they sometimes function less than when it was brand new. When you have this perk the 20% health sometimes gets it over certain treshold making it function as if new again.

Can not give you an exact number or explaination because of the tank dmg model. Just that it sometimes works really well and sometimes does not.

Hi all,

First of all I found this topic & answers very useful, thank you. I have one remaining question myself: when I leave my tank to repair damage, and re-enter, my squad members are in different positions in the tank. This messes up my perk bonusses (like Gunner perk).

Any idea how to prevent this, or is this just ‘hard luck’?

Have there been any updates on this with the new perk system? I am new to tanking and building out my squad. Idk if I should just go for the big 16 point perks (faster targeting, faster reloading) on multiple soldiers so long as any solider with that perk is alive I will receive the perk.

It still individual as far as I know so it up to you to have s secondary loader/gunner or not personally if the tank have 5 crew I go for secondary loader
