Chi to late for br4 and change br of chi to to br3

the final design of the chi to and the proposed production model, having a more streamlined turret design easing production, the armour is also slightly more angled giving it more effective armour than its initial design , likely could be in tier 4

and change the chi to to br3 since could be final fixing the issues in tank battle japan have against shermans in long and medium distantes combat since 103 pen isnt sufficient in medium or long distances

Agree,Japanese br3 tanks now could not fight
with sherman equally.

Just add Chi-Nu II at BR III

Fix current Chi-Nu so it can penetrate Sherman up to 600m as stated in Japanese May 1945 Manual , “Tank Usage”

man i dont think they would add a full potential premium tank to tech tree XD

the 103 mm pen of br3 is only good for close combat except medium and long distance combats

basicly making shermans superior and hard to destroy since chinu doesnt have good armor , the pen i would say its okay but in long or medium distance combat its not good

Toku Kou AP, 6.64kg at 683m/s
For Standard Chi-Nu

Penetration
135mm (118mm) @ 0m at 0 ° – 683m/s
105mm (94mm) @ 0m at 30 °
64mm (64mm) @ 0m at 55 °
53mm (53mm) @ 0m at 60 °
.
108mm (95mm) @ 600m at 0 ° – 587m/s
52mm (52mm) @ 600m at 55 °

:::

M4 Sherman has 50.8mm at 56 ° hull armour
This means that Tank Usage May 1945 manual is correct that Chi-Nu could penetrate M4 Sherman frontally from 600m.

Since the shell lacked armour piercing protective cap, it deformed against flat thick armour.
However at angles over 50 degrees the shell wasnt hitting armour with its tip but with the side front which meant the impact energy now spread throughout the shell’s sides (all around) rather than all impact energy focusing on the tip causing it to deform.

At 0-30 degrees the deformation is at its worst (100%)
At 45 degrees the deformation is only like 30.5% compared to 0-30 degrees
Over 52 degrees theres no deformation whatsoever, not even a little.

:::

Unfortunately for the Japanese Tanks including Chi-Nu, AP shells arent modelled correctly in WT / Enlisted
My Big report on it: Community Bug Reporting System

To make matters worse the Chi-Nu is missing the late war shell that was made specifically for it

So in Enlisted / War Thunder
Chi-Nu at best has
103mm @ 0m at 0 °
83mm @ 0m at 30 °
41mm @ 0m at 60 °

If AP shells were fixed and it got its Toku Kou AP
118mm @ 0m at 0 ° – 14.6% buff
94mm @ 0m at 30 ° – 13.3% buff
53mm @ 0m at 60 ° – 29.3% buff

Currently Chi-Nu cant pen M4 Sherman Hull whatsoever but if this got implemented it would up to 600m

:::

Its precisely also why 90mm T33 AP (M26 Pershing) which could lol clap Panther upper plate armour up to at least 1100 yards, isnt able to do so in War Thunder / Enlisted. AP shells underperform big time

Kinetic Energy:
Pz. IV F.2
75mm APCBC (6.8kg) at 740m/s
136mm @ 0m
Kinetic Energy:
0.5 x 6.8 x 740 x 740 = 1,861,840 Joules
However since its an APCBC shell, we cant treat the ballistic cap and protective cap as penetrator material. The Shell with penetrator only weighs around 5.8-6.0kg
0.5 x (~5.9) x 740 x 740 = 1,615,420 Joules

Chi-Nu
75mm Toku Kou AP (6.64kg) at 683m/s
Kinetic Energy:
~6.6kg penetrator without HE filler
0.5 x 6.6 x 683 x 683 = 1,539,414 Joules

At high angles where the protective cap isnt needed, not having the cap is better because the penetrator gets to hit at full impact speed against the armour instead of having a soft protective cap in the way which upon impact the penetrator has to penetratrate before digging into the armour by which point some energy has been wasted.

When you compare the Kinetic Energy of Chi-Nu and Pz. IV F.2 youll realise how absurd it is that Chi-Nu currently cant penetrate sherman frontal armour due to gaijins incompetence at modelling non capped AP shells correctly

90mm M82 APCBC (APC with Aerodynamic Cap)
According to US tests COULD NOT penetrate Panther Upper Plate even at Point Blank range

Penetrator is only 217mm long

90mm T33 APBC (AP with Aerodynamic Cap)
Could defeat Panther Upper Plate up to 1100 yards

Penetrator is bigger and heavier at 250mm length which means more Kinetic Energy

The fact that M82 APC penetration is currently superior to T33 AP Shell in War Thunder / Enlisted in every way imaginary is all you should know about the state of non capped AP shells right now and just how much they underperform. The T33 AP penetrator isnt just longer (bigger) it doesnt have huge HE filler which further reduces M82’s actual penetrator size and weight thus adding another penalty to its kinetic energy.
