A starter chi-nu starts with a crew of three so far so enlisted. But the crew is gunner, driver, commander problem what problem. Well I am missing a loader and machine gunner. In real life a commander is great to have in a tank. But in enlisted they are less useful than a radioman without a radio. How do I switch my commander to the loader so I can shoot at a reasonable rate.

I would love to banish the hull MG into the shadow realm just so I do not get my crew prioritising it over actually usefull positions in a tank but no luck so far.
Having a hull MG really is a curse rather than a blessing in this game.
I’m not 100% sure about this, but I believe you can put the “fast reload” perk on the commander for tanks that have 3 or fewer tankers in it; however, you sacrifice most of the other perks in that category if you do this.
I suggest going onto the practice range and testing your commander both with and without this perk to see if the tank fires more quickly. If you don’t want to waste the silver changing perks, then just put the perk on one tanker, test it, then put a brand new tanker without the perk in the commanders slot to test it without the perk.
I wish that with vehicles, similar to how you can command your troops to position themselves, close, far and inbetween you the player, you could open the command wheel and switch between options that prioritise different seats in vehicle crews , such as prioritise gunner/loader, prioritise driver, prioritise machine gunner/commander.
