Chemical weapons were used heavily in WW1, but far less in ww2 mainly by Japan and Germany outside combat. chemical weapons were far more a threat then ever an applied weapon on the battlefield, more a weapon of terror.
militairy and civilian gas masks have remained in play in spite of the very limited use of nbcw. a tactical deployment system remained out of reach of the common soldier
most usage was limited to attacks on civilian targets combat usage was rare though not unheard of
testing thankfully led to the reduction and disposable of most arsenal reducing them to a fraction of peak levels
this led to new problems of cost or improper disposal
. strangely flamethrower tanks and handheld device’s were part of the chemical corps
strange that a portable or vehicle/tank chemical weapon was never developed
it was um interesting in C&C so yeah still enlisted wont tough it with a hundred foot poll funny but something to think about.

They were not used in combat by Germany of it’s opponents at all - they were stockpiled, but theory is Hitler was so appalled with them he refused to allow them.
The allies didn’t know that so stockpiled thousands of tons just in case - leading to the disaster of a ship loaded with them being hit by a ?German bombing raid - Air raid on Bari - Wikipedia
Not going to comment on Japan/China war!
when adding image, add it in separate line. it is easier to read that way.
well germany still used them outside combat in camps for concentration.
