Check six for fighters?

Dual seat attacker planes have the ability to switch to the rear gunner by pressing a button. For single pilot fighters, the same button and mechanic could be used to quickly check a fighter’s six o’clock position. Many WWII fighters had a mirror above the cockpit frame, but this is not implemented in Enlisted. So my idea is to be able to check a fighter’s rear position with the press of a button. What do you think?

I’d like to see the mirrors modeled

Already implemented. Press and hold “C” to look around everywhere.

Having mirrors would be nice.

I know, that’s what I use. But a functioning rear mirror (on planes that historically had them) would be cool…. Or at least a button which allows to check a plane’s six o’clock position with one click

It wouldn’t work. Many planes don’t have a “full bubble” canopy so you’d just see your own seat or metal.

I’d like mirrors to work though.

Yeah, unless I am in my P-51D or my P-47 I cannot see to the rear very well. When I am in a dive bomber, it really doesn’t matter cause there’s not much you can do when a fighter is on your tail. I usually hug the earth, and when I hear my rear gunner start shooting, slow the throttle, drop the flaps and put on the airbrake and hope he over shoots me. It does work on some occasions, but not as often as I would hope. I did get some hits on a fighter with my Stuka doing this same thing as he over shot so I brought the machine gun to bear, got him smoking but he throttled off and climbed before I could get the kill. Old Uncle Stuka just didn’t have the speed to keep up.
