So, saw someone here suggest that your squad bots follow you during a charge.
Obviously I support this and it would go well with some event squads that play into this well.
All 9 man infantry squads with bayonets:
Western allies Australian militia armed with Martini-Enfield rifles (.303 chambered Martini-Henry)
Eastern allies Partisans with Berdan rifles
Germans Volkssturm with Mauser M1871 (single shot version)
And the main prize of course…
Japan Okinawan fanatics with bamboo spears
The single shot nature of the rifles would encourage people to charge. Bamboo spears obviously too. Maybe give them a 35% health boost perk and/or some more survivability perks because they can only melee.
As much as I would absolutely love a pure melee squad, I have to acknowledge how useless it would probably be. An alternative weapon would be the synder musket, used sparsely by Japan:
Just realised you may have meant the Snyder-Enfield. A breach loading version of the Enfield musket, also called Snyder rifle. Used by Japan at the transition into the Meiji period. Not unlikely for some militia somewhere in Japan to have had these.
So then it would be a breach loader for all 4 nations. Would be more balanced than bamboo spears but somehow I find it so fitting for Japanese fanatics (seeing that there are records of them going into battle with just that).

yeah, make the bamboo chargers superhuman by giving them possibly +15 vitality as starter perk and lots of green points to make them very fast but also only allow them their event weapons to keep them balanced.
would be one of the most fun squads ever: super fast soldiers with long range bamboos and 150% HP to strike fear in those americans!
Nice, that would work. My personal preference is still the M1871 single shot version. It’s just a very charming gun but overall i’d be happy with any single shot weapons and better charge mechanics.
They issued bambu spears all over Japan to militias. Okinawa too and there they have reportedly been used.
They weren’t used for throwing but rather for charging.
Side note, they also were the Indonesian “revolutionary weapon to kick out the colonial Dutch” after Japanese occupation ended. Realistically their impact was minimal but it has become iconic. Pacific US outfits and weaponry are very similar to Colonial Dutch troops 1945-47 which would make this work extra well for me. (I’m a Dutchman particularly interested in Indonesia-Dutch relations)
lets have swords n Armour & horses but the Chinese will still get tanks ak 47 and jets - haha the iii- clan will still cheat n get 344 kills wheree their entire team manages 45 kills the game is rigged its rigged cos their artielley kills an entier sqaud mine kills 2 - tanks are wiped out 100m from where their spwaning but doesnt shot by what or who -
men out run tanks to place dynamite on them and walk thru mg fire the tanks are hideous to use drive hacks sit in grey zone n kill your tanks 2000m away i dont ppaly it any more its so rigged and the dervs s knwo it is as they are also playing e hence why all the clans one one team cos its rigged

Would really like to see more breachloaders. Ideally an entire rifleman squad for each nation like the event in my original main post!
Since i could only buy 4 berdan’s, i gave them to my partisan guerilla squad.
