Changing how events function and giving more development time

This is aimed at changing how events function and give the developers more time to work on content, and fix aspects of the game that need to be worked on in the process such as bug fixes, and other things.

Proposition here can go one of two ways:

Option 1

Option 1:

  • Extending the events to 60 days allowing people who work or can’t currently play to participate in the event. Instead of time gating every 2 days it should be extended to 4. This would also mean the devs have even more time to polish and work on content instead of launching an event at all times. In compensation for our time we can be given additional rewards during this time, whether it be extra silver, portraits, weapon upgrade orders, vehicle upgrade orders, cosmetics, etc. during the time we’re waiting for the next time gate smaller objectives can be completed such as those that are usually gray progress points on the events road map, since these are usually silver, cosmetic orders, and other smaller things.

As for the smaller six-day events those can be extended out to 14 days offering additional rewards for the minor events, such as silver, upgrade orders, portraits, etc.

The 6-day events are the only ones that More often consistently come back around every year, but as far back as I can tell we haven’t really had many events if any at all that have had old event squads come back. This would allow more people to obtain those event squads with the wider event window. Either way it’s a win-win for both developer and player.

Option 2

Option 2:

  • Removing the time gate from events entirely, keeping the score system and potentially increasing that to 25,000 to 30,000. Allowing players to grind as many levels as they want in a single day.

6 day events would still get increased to 14 days, and have additional rewards such as silver, upgrade orders, etc.

Both of these options would help cut down on the amount of events we have, Some players have began to grow tired of as many events back to back and have felt it is become a chore rather than relaxing. Many players Wait for an event to end just to immediately question “what event comes out tonight?”. This is not only damaging to the game and it’s overall health, but keeps constant not so important tasks popping up for the developers to deal with when they could be spending more time fixing bugs, adding maps, researching what they will do for the next update, etc. it creates extra stress for player and developer, on keeping up with everything.

End Note

End note:

This is just my proposition to try to solve two birds with one stone. Giving the developer more time to work on, polish content, fix bugs, and work on things that are a little more important.

What is the communities preference? What would you change different than this?

why, events are not to reward players
its a to increase play time
b to force people to buy levels if they can’t grind
so why would they make it easier
it would be good if they did by why would they

A big reason would be to have more time to work on other things, like the camera bug, and others, polishing content so it releases more bug free and dedicating more time to researching weapons, vehicles, maps, and creating that content so it’s not half baked at times.

Let’s look at Rezhv, a lot of people are upset and disappointed that we only got left bank. Wanting right bank, as well as more things in the research tree other than a tank, flak AA cannon and a few new premium squads among smaller things. The updates are well thought out but not well tested, a longer or even second pts phase could solve bugs and development so more can go into the updates going forward. Making these updates feel not half baked or rushed and more substantial. This same logic would extend to them lengthening the battle pass. It would happen less if they changed the way they do events.

Another thing would be more rewards equalling more chances to get people to play longer, spend money more often, and a overall a better event model. Rewards after the event that were missed would still have to be purchased for gold, with the potential of even more to purchase. It would also help players not feel burned out doing event after event because they have longer to do them.

I honestly like how events work right now. It’s not necessarily perfect, but they’re engaging enough while also being feasible for someone with a busy schedule irl.

That said, I do think community or faction challenges could be a cool thing to implement.

I’m good on this decision. Waiting a whole day to make progress again is tedious enough. I’ll take the removal of the time gate entirely, thanks

Bc if it’s to harsh someone can simply not play at all. Like me now.

and if enough people quit they will change it but its a formula

number of x under current system vs y under new system
x can be number of play hours or dollars spent
as long as x is greater than y or they believe it to be the system will not change
