Two main problems we have: - maps are horizontally too small
-objevtice areas are too small
So if we enlarge maps and objective areas horizontally, units have to be more widespread and ridiculous accumulation of soldier in one point can be avoided.
This will force players to play on flanks and more bigbrain/tactical moves will be achiveable
Bcs if you dont cover all objective area, enemies sneak from gaps.
So i propose a battle line like long objective areas
To divide or nor the objective area will depends on maps structure ofc. But we need horizontally larger playable areas and larger objectice/territory
With this; Confront and invasion mods will serve as tactical dominated gameplay for player
With more open areas, tanks play will be more fun
Invasion and destruction will be for cqc gameplay
I agree that in most cases the maps need to be widened. That will allow more area to be taken advantage of both for offense and defense.
However:
The train mode is absolutely amazing, but its only on one campaign. I really do like it though, even though I’m usually a more tactical player.
Assault needs one big change to make it a lot more viable. Each time an objective is taken by defense, it permanently fills one quarter of the objective meter. So in the event that the defenders take it back multiple times, it will eventually fill completely out if its repeatedly taken back. This gives attackers a better chance of advancing, and promotes more tactical play from defenders.
One change that I think Destruction, Invasion, and Confrontation all need is the Defenders need to be able to see where the next objective location is in advance. The strongest defenses are not set up in the heat of battle, but rather in advance, so when the team falls back to it, they can effectively defend that area.
Playing flanks in train mod is funny but problem is inconsistency. In some areas game doesnt allow to build rally point closer than 100 m to train but in some other areas it increases to 120 or decreases to 80
