Capturing objectives is the core of the game. Yet, you only receive 100 points for capturing and must be on it when it completes to get the points. All too often players that do the majority of the capture get killed and the capture is finished as they are making their way back to the point. In addition, I’ve talked with a number of players (on console) that don’t think its worth it for them to try to take the objective, as they get far more points on a flank and racking up kills that way. So what I suggest:
Give 1 point per 1% of capture per infantry on the point.
EXAMPLE- if you have yourself and 2 additional members of your squad on the objective for 40% of the capture, you receive a total of 120 points.
- This way, those that are actively involved in taking the objective are reward accordingly.
- Players aren’t screwed out of score even if they get killed off and can’t make it back in time.
- Players put more effort into getting as many of their squad onto the objective ALIVE resulting both in faster captures as well as more points awarded.

To be honest, problem you describe here is complex. If talk about points given for cap, “balancing” it with hands is most stupid way of balancing itself, but about motivation to take it…lets begin with fact that some zones are just littlest circles placed somewhere on opened field so literally anyone can make easy frags on naive boys trying to take/defend it with tonns of meat, and NO award could make them get up and move. Decreasing grind is always good but for solving cap problem you need also work on mapdesign alot

My point is primarily that points need to be given equally to those that attack directly and those that play supporting roles. Tanks, field guns, snipers, etc all have their place. These are vital roles that often generate a lot of points. I don’t think points should be reduced from them at all. However, as I pointed out, taking the objective does not give the adequate points to be on par with the others. It is just as important if not more, but you are only rewarded when its fully captured, even if you were there for 90% of the time.
Its not so much about solving a capping problem, its more about giving points where its due. Players not getting credit (in the form of points) for their efforts is the issue.

They do give track the percentage you’ve captured. But I don’t know if they give points.

They don’t give points for it. I literally just tested that tonight, which is why I made this post in the first place.
