Change the 1st Panzer Grenadier Division Weapon

The Premium 1st Panzer Grenadier Division for Normandy is based on the 1st SS Panzer Division Leibstandarte SS Adolf Hitler. Originally the Honor Guards of Germany, the division was eventually rolled into the SS and saw combat all over Europe throughout the war. The Premium Squad’s weapon is the TZ-45, a late war Italian SMG that was made for the Repubblica Sociale Italiana and saw service with Italian and German forces in the fierce fighting in Northern Italy. I believe the TZ-45 was chosen for this Squad haphazardly and is a waste of opportunity both for the squad and this unique weapon. It would be much more fitting being seen in it’s actual historical theatre and not just randomly dropped into the beaches of Normandy.

A more fitting weapon would be the MP SS 42, a SMG that was being developed specifically for the SS. The gun was based on a pre-war Czech SMG, the Kulometna Pistole Vzor 38, and Czech armaments were absorbed by Germany after conquering Czechoslovakia. The SS showed interest as they were forced to scrounge whatever weapons they could acquire as well as growing dissatisfaction with the MP 40 and encountering the infamous Soviet PPSh-41. The gun could have both stick and 64-round drum magazines. The SS had ordered 10,000 guns but Albert Speer, the Minister of Armaments and War Production shut down the project because he viewed it unnecessary and a waste of resources.

I think it would be better if this Premium Squad, the prestigious Honor Guard of Germany and one of the first SS units, be given a unique weapon that was specifically designed for them, instead of an out of place Italian SMG.

This should be not a difficult problem because everyone who already purchased the Squad will still have the Squad itself, their weapon would just be changed. The TZ-45 should be removed and be reintroduced in the future for the late war Italian campaign content where it belongs.

I don’t think they can legaly change the weapon on already sold squads.
But they can

  1. remove the squad from the shop and add it with a different weapon
  2. add another squad from this division with a different weapon and a different batalion number (kind of lame to have 2 assaulters squads from the same division though)

Yeah, it’s already not the only squad from that division. Though I try not to be too vocal about those types of squads.

The unit and the weapon they use have no relationship in this game lol.

Very difficult problem, many people buy premium squad because they want to use that weapon. The squad itself is not important. If dev change it to other weapon, people will just call dev scammer and ask for compensation.

I’m not really that much of a stickler about perfection or this gun should go with this or that, but I do have some standards.

I just thought it was silly that they gave a late war Italian SMG to a squad and campaign that aren’t even thematically related to it. I knew the TZ-45 was going to come to the game one day, I expected probably some late war Italian Premium Squad. But when they made it a German division in Normandy I rolled my eyes.

So I thought they might as well give this Squad a more fitting SMG.

It’s like if one day we get the Polish Paratrooper Squad that served in Operation Market Garden as a Premium or Event, I’d expect their signature weapon to be something like the Blyskawica SMG, the mass produced SMG of the Polish Resistance because it would be so fitting for them. If they got some sort of American or British gun instead I’d probably say “Really. Cmon”

Wasn’t the TZ-45 squad removed, along with all those French weapon squads? Italy, British Empire, and France are on the way.

Nope, I think only merican its counterpart - UD squad is going to be removed.

I don’t think the 3rd division is represented in game, that’d work too. Wouldn’t be first, but still is part of original 3

soon there will be no campaigns so doesnt matter much.

Technically yes but it’s just the integrity of it
