The Gewehr 98 rifle, at level 24, in terms of the sum of its characteristics, is no better than the initial Kar 98k with optics, and somewhere even worse, especially as a sight it is inferior to a carbine. I suggest replacing the current 3x scope with a 6x one.
In terms of historicity, there will be no problems, because. Germany, during World War I, used a huge variety of sights and there was no special sight for military snipers. Sports and hunting sights of completely different manufacturers were used. The 3x that is in the game was more common, and the 6x was more rare.
