While everybody is geeky and dorky yet again for no good reason.
This is you (official forum - yes, you mfs):
“Enlisted is the number one WW2 historically accurate FPS simulator.
We should never had AK-47 one shots, but more of bolt action rifles with pistol damage”.
"Enlisted is an arcade like WW2 shooter - it should be fun, why you have nerfed the HE that gave me 15 kills at each shot!? "
Meanwhile, average noob:
“Enlisted, got from Steam. Free FPS shooter. Fun, will play again next week for 2h.”
Can we stop wasting time and talk about meaningful changes/mechanics?
Proposal: Streamlining Soldier Perks Selection
The current perk system has some frustrating mechanics that could use improvement. The current perk tree adds unnecessary micromanagement. Not everyone wants to manually optimize every soldier.
Previous System:
Soldiers gained perks random perk each time they leveled up, for every level respectively.
Current System:
Now, each soldier has a perk tree. While the idea is interesting in theory, in practice it adds unnecessary complexity and micromanagement—especially when basic mechanics (like ladders) remain broken for extended periods.
The Problem:
The perk system, while well-designed for depth, demands too much time from players who just want efficient, straightforward progression. Not everyone wants to meticulously customize every soldier.
Suggested Solution:
Implement an auto-select perk system based on simplified, role-focused choices—similar to the “Equip Best Available” and “Buy Best Available” options for gear.
Example for Assaulters:
Fast & Fragile – High speed, lower health
Balanced – Moderate speed and health
Aim-Focused – Better accuracy, slower speed, more health
Hybrid – Good aim and speed, but lower health
Vertical Mobility – Faster climbing (e.g., “Swiss Alpine Training”)
This keeps flexibility while reducing micromanagement. Players who enjoy deep customization can still tweak perks manually, but others can opt for quick, sensible defaults.
Other way to look at it:
Add an auto-select perk system with role-based presets—similar to “Equip/Buy Best Available.”
Example (Assaulter):
Speed Demon – Fast, low health
Tank – Slower, high health
Sharpshooter – High accuracy, balanced stats
Climber – Faster vaulting/climbing
This keeps depth for min-maxers while giving casual players a “just make it work” option.
Request:
Please consider adding this quality-of-life improvement to make perk selection less tedious.
