Currently to upgrade a weapon I need to level up a squad that comes with this gun and unlock weapon upgrade there. Imo this is unnecessary complicated, serves no purpose, is not intuitive and simply annoying.
So imo yellow squad upgrade tree should be completelly removed. Instead each weapon model should have a progression that unlocks upgrades. For example if you get 1k exp when using PPSh, you automatically unlock cheaper weapon upgrade for PPShs. (Note: everything is cumulative.) Progress bar of unlocks could be placed on the stats card of the weapon.
Such system is present in many games and it’s much more intuitive than current design.
Back in the day, a squad only had 1 or 2 weapons attached to them, the most I remember was 4, but now there are squads with 10 or more weapons (or vehicles).
Im sitting on 33 unused squad upgrade points with German tier II panzer squad because I have already maxed out most vehicles so the upgrade points accumulated.
I had a different issue. I needed to grind a squad to unlock upgrades for the weapon I wanted. I was completelly not interested in this squad and it was lvl 0. Fun
yeah, many times i give up on upgrading weapons cuz they’re attached to squads im not interested in playing with. I’m afraid this is a form of catch so that some players might pay money to bypass that annoyiance…
Also change the undermanned squads at the beginning. The red and yellow tree can be taken or left but the blue one needs to remove the unlocking of soldiers who should already be present. The xp and class upgrades are fine but the single man in a bomber needs to change.
