There should be an option to put rather 2 engineers or an engineer and at soldier but the specialists you put in should mandatorily get the same premium gun to replace their primary

There should be such option.
But i doubt that DF has ever figured out how to change class of already existing premium soldiers, or how to replace them in correct manner.
That’s why they always just added slot for non premium soldier to old outdated premium/event squads.
Meaning, the only option would be to make the old premium/event riflemen squads of 10-11 soldiers.
Which I doubt will happen.

Not a bad idea actually. Since then for example with my akt40 squads I’d equip my engineer and at gunner with bolt actions. But I’d still like to see if they can allow us to replace two of my riflemen with specialists first
That or I’d like to see them give us the option to take the premium weapons off our squads and distribute them to other squads but at the same time I guess that’d take away the uniqueness of a premium squad. Thoughts?

What do you mean? Because premiums and event squads are already customizable as is. Or do you mean their loadouts?
Squad composition. Like add an MG, Sniper, etc to the squad
Ah ok that makes sense. But that would make the squad a little too AP as some of them already have like 5 mg39,42 early’s etc. so I’m not wholeheartedly for that but I see where you’re coming from
