Change current situation of bayonets

Bayonets when were added to Berlin campaign, they were cool addition to some weapons. It made this weapons special and different from the rest of weaponry. Now when they are added to Tunista, Moscow and Normandy, they are everywhere and almost every weapon has it. It made it basic, but it doesn’t mean it’s bad.

My proposition is to add bayonets to as many rifles as possible (Fg-42, sniper rifles etc) But create some disadvantige of having it so it would be like "Ok, I can add bayonet but is it worth the cons the boyonet has or maybe leave it so my weapon would have better statistics (maybe movement, stamina regeneration ect.) but I woudn’t have good option for very close combat.

If you want summary of what I have wrote above:

Add bayonets to as many rifles as possible but make disadvantige of having it so not having it could make sense

Making bayonets cause movement debuff defeats their purpose.

Making weapons longer and unsuted for CQC would be good downside of bayonets. But we don’t have weapon collision.

But actually now bayonets need some advantages, not disadvantages. Like option to use them while runing.

So that the gun would have some usefull customization, woudn’t be everywhere like it is now and this would add some more depth into your preparation for battle.

i think bayonets should get buffs but debuffs at the same time so their use would be optional

Well, buff and nerf at the same time just to make them option to change your weapon a little bit to fit more your role into battle

Dude a knife does not weights much to eat up your stamina

Just example

I just would not use them, I dont need them and they are not useful.

If I have an smg, a select fire rifle or sniper rifle I don’t want a barely usefull thing that give me debuff.

-gun collision (that is not only bayonet problem)
-option to mount/dismount bayonets exactly like grenade launchers
-option to use them while running to make bayonet charge

Those are the only things that bayonets need, no wierd nerfs etc. Afterall those were a standard equipment back then so it would be obvious that every soldier will have one.

maybe bayonets could add a bit more sway to the gun???

bayonets are good as they are, BA’s are pretty much always in disadvantage at CQC so having something to poke around is good.
As well as with SA’s due to theyr recent nerf.

Dont think any of the automatic weapons need bayonet.

Problem with bayonet is that it changes center of weight which in this situation would increase shot devation and also increases lenght of weapon so it decreases comfort of movement

Well currently Automatic weaponry also have bayonets (M2 Carbine, AVS-36, AKT-40, PPD-40 DSZ)

Yeah and how much they are used on those guns?

Well in auto weapons a some sort of downside of wielding them should be added or just remove the ability entirely.

allow bloody redundant knives to be turned into bayonets.

I’m fine with bayonets as they are in game.

It’s so refreshing not seeing the nonsensical, overused formula of requiring penalties for equipping something like a bayonet.
