Basically from business perspective Enlisted as a a game has to reach a “critical mass” of gamer population worldwide in order to yield real revenue and provide good income for the company that owns the game.
This can be achieved by increasing the amount of campaigns one at the time, while expanding and deepening/ developing the old ones on the side in order to keep them interesting. Just by adding maps this game can reach larger and larger venues and increase the amount of time players play the game as well as the amount of money they consume on the in game purchases.
Building a Korean War campaign would be a convenient shortcut/ Jump to building Asia Pacific campaign and later, perhaps even few years later on… The big price - VIETNAM WAR campaign?
Korean campaign would provide all the nature, Asian houses, rice paddies, colonial houses, Asian “skins” in the game and other materials that could be recycled in two other campaigns that would require a lot less work later on?
For example: After building a successful Korean War Campaign the step to build Asia Pacific or Vietnam War campaign would be so much shorter. Basically the jump to add more campaigns would be very fast and the situation would look like this in few next years:
4 Campaings from WWII in Europe.
1 Campaing from Asia Pacific WWII.
1 Campaing for Korean War .
1 Campaing for Vietnam War.
After that point Enlisted as a game would have enough reach to satisfy any FPS player very well and all around, with this basis reaching a significant and stable player amount would be relatively easy. Rest of the development could stay focused on adding weapons, details, more maps to each campaign deepening the game overall etc.
Basically Enlisted could be the biggest, deepest and largest FPS game out there with the largest amount/ pool of stable players?
From the Asian markets perspective, Korean War Campaign would be the easiest to grasp with the least amount of effort/ investment and time due to existing materials and development. With Asia Pacific WWII campaign pretty much everything would have to be build from a scratch, which would mean a lot longer time period and more expenses for developing it.
Why to make a huge jump in order to make money when there is a convenient, completely neglected shortcut available?
Korean War Campaign could be launched fairly quickly to yield income from two different huge markets simultaneously.
