When you first boot up the game their should be pop up saying something like this “currently the historic symbol of the “swastika” is currently censored. Would you like enable “swastikas” in the game?”. This could make both sides of the spectrum happy. If you don’t want swastikas in the game just click no and if you’re one of people that wants historical accuracy just enable the option. As well as that the option to enable swastikas should also in the graphic settings as well.
this cannot be done.
even if the dev wanted to make historically accurate, they faced the marketing and restriction laws in certain countries.
in order to make everyone play this game, they had to adapt for those rules.
personally, i don’t look at it like it’s a big trouble. and no one can really blaim gaijin/dark flow for that.
This is now the 3rd post about swastikas and every time the result is “they can never get added to the game as the swastika is banned in numerous countries and gaijin/darkflow would not shoot themselves in the foot over a single symbol”
No. The Swastika is a banned symbol in several european countries even giving the option to enable it will trigger some governmental restrictions.
I think it’s good that the swastika isn’t in the game. As has already been mentioned, the hack cross has been banned in several European countries. Inserting this could cause conflicts.
Why it is in official Berlin playtest trailer then? It literally says “actual pre-alpha gameplay footage.” That itself can stink to some people. I really hope Enlisted will include accurate information in official release trailer. Otherwise people may get wrong ideas about how far ambition for historical accuracy goes. Please, don´t get me wrong, while I dislike it (especially if we consider that all soviet symbols are left uncensored despite being banned in certain countries as well- of course that is less countries than swastika case, but I already made post about it in the past), I fully respect this decision. Also wouldn´t be better to just remove all censored symbols? Especially if they are so huge (literally screaming in the face of any player who cares about history) and terrible looking as flags in Berlin. Simply removing them altogether would be far more merciful for our eyes.

Promoting fachist idiology is restricted to a certain degree. WW2 games and subreddits are where most Neonazis get born in the modern world
the can’t do it due to various laws about the depiction of them, personally i just hope they add the SS markings of the of the SS squads that are in the game, i heard that the ones from the berlin open alpha were censored, anyway they are really iconic and not eye catching so if it’s not prohibited by law like the swastika is it would be a nice little detail
Considering the Communist symbols are banned too, any argument of “But Nazi symbols are banned that’s why” Is inherently wrong.
This might be either the fourth or the fifth thread on the subject of the German symbols. Even though Germany lifted their famous ban on the Third Reich symbols in video games, the developers are still located in the Russian Federation, and their laws prohibit them from including any political Third Reich era symbols in their game.
I still think the German uniforms should include some sort of replacement to fill in for the eagle badges similar to the ones on the German crewmen in War Thunder as a compromise.
I also think it would be really great if there also was a small text during the boot-up screen or somewhere like that, notifying that the game uses censored symbols for the German side because a lot of people who get their education in history from Youtube and video games have started to think that Iron cross is interchangeable with a swastika and no-one has told them that the red flags with an iron cross in a white circle are just a censored replacement and not the historical flag of Germany in 1933-45.
Anyways, I’ll just add this image with some of my concepts for replacement symbols for the Germans that could make them look as good as historically accurate models when viewed from 10 meters away.
ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT! This is Exactly what i was thinking… I’m actually very urged to have this on game, would turn me on to spend more money, since i am a hardcore history fan.
