Carpet bombs are inconsistent, and A.I. has ridiculous auto-aim reflexes

Sometimes they get NO kills, while other times, the bombs will wipe 20+ soldiers (including the ones sheltered inside buildings.)

It wouldn’t be such a big deal… if these carpet bombs had a longer cooldown for the entire team. When you have three players on the same team, using radio squads… it’s literally a combination of ENDLESS artillery strikes and carpet bombs.

My suggestion is NOT to nerf anything… but simply increase the cooldown for the entire team (once a carpet bombing has came-and-went)
And perhaps do some adjustments regarding soldier survivability, from within sheltered buildings.

For example, from today’s gameplay:

And the A.I.'s reaction time/precision, is absurd.

Honestly the carpet bombing is pretty cool because they give a load of points if you shoot them down. It´s probably the most rewarding thing since you help your team by shooting them down and get a whole lot of points for it.

At 0:35 of the first video you can see the bomb crater in front of the door. When you were at the other building you weren’t prone, the AI copied your stance so they all got killed by the bomb.

They bombing pattern is predictable. There are 5 planes, each of which drop 4 bombs at the center of the red circles in the direction of their travel.

But it literally isn’t.

Before we had constant artillery spam 24/7.
Now we have 2 min airstrike, that is 70% getting shot down by plane/aa because how much score it gives.
And there is no artillery in that time, they share same cooldown. Only gripe i have smoke arty could have separate cooldown so radio squads can do something at least.

So it’s 2-3 artillery strikes untill someone call airstrike and You have 2 min of peace.
And the bombs mostly kill 20+ bots anyway

A lot of the Bombers are being shot down now, now that their easer to kill, far easer to kill, especially by AA guns, and frankly worth going after.

Yes I agree that “artillery” has seen worse days.

When I say this, the context that I mean was; between BOTH teams, it’s endless carpet bombing and artillery strikes. Where there are many times, the explosive spam is so severe, it’s like 30 seconds of screen shaking, 20 seconds of regular play, another 30 seconds of screen shaking (repeat for the whole match). It gets REALLY annoying after awhile.

Yeah I forgot about the A.I. mimicking my actions (even though they were 40m away).

Even though you are right, it’s kind of weird that the A.I. behaves this way. They can 't even see me (as I’m in another building), but they will copy me as I crouch, go prone, or am standing.

In addition, there needs to be an increase to the bomber raid cooldown according to how many got shot down. 2 minutes extra per plane. So it would be like this:

  • 10 minute standard cooldown
  • 1 plane = 12 minutes
  • 2 planes = 14 minutes
  • 3 planes = 16 minutes
  • 4 planes = 18 minutes
  • 5 planes = 20 minutes

These two together would make RO counterable, and add more risk to the reward.

*Please note, the bomber raids are more than just a way to obtain kills. They are extremely effective at clearing out cover, including tree cover and courtyard walls that otherwise would require a tank driving through them to clear out. This removal of cover in the long run is actually even stronger that the initial kills. Being able to bring in 3 bomber raids in an area is usually enough to clear all destroyable cover.

They also destroy ALL fortifications within the blast radius of each bomb dropped.

These carpet bombs are like clearing the battlefield and creating a no-man’s land.
The more times both teams call these bombings in… it makes the matches very stagnant while at the same time, non-stop screenshaking.
It makes it very difficult for the players to run 200-300 meters every time they die, on account of these carpet bombs destroying EVERYTHING except for the indestuctable features/structures within the map.

Exactly my point. I’ve noted many times before of course that I think engineer built fortifications should be more durable.

100% agree. It would be one thing if players were able to build some kind of entrenched bunker to be safe in.

thats a big skill issue , but anyway , wait until you discover AI yank back your Grenade at Lightning speed even at 4 second delaced it still comeback and exploded in my face , now i gotta timed precise to 4.5 second and throw

I have very much experienced what you’re describing.

All are issues within the gameplay that ought to be addressed with small ajustments.

And I don’t mean a damage reduction or anything of the sort. Simply stating the developers could spend a little more time focusing on the A.I’s reactions speeds, in relation to what can be described as the fastest plausable reaction time, human players are capable of moving/reacting.

Don’t make the A.I. oblivious… But simply try and mimic the response time, that players experience as they are being shot at
