Two of the most important acts to perform in Enlisted—if you expect to win—is to build rally points as an engineer and to get on the cap point (whether you’re attacking or defending). Too often games are lost because there are not enough people who understand these basic concepts. Unfortunately, many players believe they can snipe or “run & gun” their way to victory—only to accelerate their way to another loss. Many times they are literally standing a few feet outside the zone shooting the enemy, but will not step foot into the cap zone. This behavior makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. I wish one of them would explain what’s going on in their head to believe this false assumption.
Therefore, for those people who do promote victories through capping and building rallies, I propose that they’re guaranteed a battle hero award in each and every game. The “Best Builder” award & the “Tactician” award should be given to the best player in each of these categories in every game—without reducing the number of awards that are currently being given to other players for other activities.
Furthermore, the XP given for capping points & building rallies should be increased—although, I’m not sure by how much. What do you think would be a fair compensation for performing these activities?
I don’t know if my proposal will drastically change people’s behavior in game, but at least it’s an incentive to nudge them in the right direction.
What do you think? Can you think of anything else that would promote these activities in game?
Personally +35 pts for every time someone uses your spawn is a pretty good return and doesn’t need any improvement - except possibly removing the 20 spawn limit.
There’s a limit? I don’t even. Meanwhile “sNiPiNg” rewards buff have no limit. Kill me.
Better matchmaker. It usually comes down to “stacked faction” vs “absolute dregs”. One side is full up BR5 with max slots and premiums shitting out paratroopers apcs tanks and overall just running you over vs BR1 bolt actions or vehicles/sitting in spawn spamming mortars/bombing runs/building mgs 500m away from battle/no engineers/snipers
End of the match those teams often have 1 or 2 battle awards portraits (at least the useful ones) instead of the usual 4
Until you prevent “best” (usually they aren’t any good actually, ironically) players from just curb stomping weak factions not much will change
In those matches it often feels pointless to build rallies as they will get overrun before any of the afk teammates decides to spawn on it lol
I doubt devs would crank it up even just by little bit, the rewards are already high enough, when playing new squad engineer is my go to solution to level up quickly.
I remember engineer event where building rally point was part of a task, the amount of rally points was astonishing. Though It shows that building rally point is really uninteresting chore, which only can be accelerated by points, I wish it would be just fun mechanic to use maybe it would be if devs expanded the commands so you could order your AI to build stuff? I would go this way tbh
I think a better way is to add assessment penalties
Let players take responsibility for their own abilities and actions
The reward multiplier for the last 5 players in order is reduced to the lowest only 0.5
However, there will be no penalty when the score is not less than 90% of the average score of all players.
For example
Total score 10000X0.1=1000
Players with a score of 900 will not be penalized
On this, I agree. The people taking the points are absolutely taking the highest risks. They basically have a huge target on their back for all artillery fire, tank pounding, assaults, snipers and random air raids.
Coincidentally, they are also the people winning the matches for everyone.
So, yes, the reward for capping should be MUCH higher.
To borrow from Flag’s misguided idea - those making kills further from the point, should get LESS points per kill.
