I can
Not because of progression differences, but as we’ve seen when the game went into OBT, free players suck ass whether or not they’re behind on progression.
Maybe some are less dedicated it’s true… I’ve seen some real cracks that don’t pay anything, thought.
I’m talking about just having any kind of tactical sense.
A lot of common tactics from CBT just died going into open beta.
Even flanking through certain routes doesn’t happen anymore in favor of bum rushing up the middle.
Aaah… well yes, combat experience (if we can call it this way) gets diluted once CBT becomes OBT. It may be a gap that separate more dedicated players from what the internet likes to call: “filthy” casuals…
Probably because CBT was pay-walled off (at a high price too I might add, for a Closed Beta Test) so for a while there was a concentration of sweat lords, whales and others who no-life the game which had the Berlin campaign all to themselves. Given the largely unchanging player base of course a meta was established. Now you have a massive influx of players who maybe played it a few times and then noped out of that poorly balanced and unoptimized mess (especially when there was that free promotion going on) or who’ve never played it at all. Of course it doesn’t help that with the opening of Berlin to everyone, the player base has become even more fragmented (thus more bots and a thinner distribution of players and even few experienced/skilled players on a given team) and Darkflow didn’t keep their promise to wipe the progression on it (surely at Gaijins money-grubbing request), and the game doesn’t teach new players how to play (nor is it that clear on how it should be played nor how to do things).
“I say good sir! Filthy casual plebeians who don’t spend a penny are coming into MY beta after my esteemed peerless supremely skilled colleagues and I - who spend money - spent months grinding and paying and learning beforehand in our once gated community!? How dare they, those unskilled peons!”
They promised NOT to wipe progression. The exact opposite of what you’re claiming they said.
Its a shooter. If a player doesn’t know how to play a shooter by 2021 then thats because of them being bad and putting in 0 effort to learn. So even the most advanced tutorial wouldn’t help them.
I don’t have time to be super active in game and I still learned more tricks to breaching the walls of the monastery in the first 2 weeks the map was added than the OBT community learned in 3 months.
I dont get why they wiped the “expensive” cb-testers but didnt do the same for berlin beta testers makes no sense.
I will continue trying to get perfect squads in normandy, im still a bit off on my troop and gun star count.
I may pop into berlin just to see what the maps are like but will likely try to max out moscow now with my “expensive” cbt assaulters.
I feel like all they are doing is seperating the comunity. No wonder the forum has so many complaints about entire bot teams.
nooo muh heckin pay2win!!!
Either way it just presents problems for the player base.
Not sure if you’re purposefully misunderstanding or just don’t get it. “Knowing how to play a shooter” isn’t the problem, and isn’t what I - or others who go on about others not knowing how to play the game and the game needing to give newer players better direction - are talking about. Everyone playing Enlisted knows “shoot bad guy”. In fact playing Enlisted like every other MP shooter (even the more hardcore tactical ones save for maybe Rising Storm 2) is exactly the problem. Few - even those who have been playing for a while - seem to understand how objectives are played and the game doesn’t teach you the game modes. Would a proper tutorial that runs through the ins-and-outs of the game hurt? No, it wouldn’t. In fact it would improve it.
