Usually, when i edited the scene blk with notepad, i converted it back to the blk file and joined the game.
Just now, i once i edit my current mod scene blk with notepad, for some reason i cannot enter it anymore. The editor wont load it…
Any help please? 
Perhaps because of the change in type, the file became broken
thats a good idea, but i changed the type of file like this for years now. Made many mods with changing the file type like this but i never had problems…
There might be a typo within your code
Did the editor just crash and then exit without even saying what error?
Then you might just have typo in scene.blk
Upload your txt here, i help you fix it
By the way, you dont need to change file extension (file type).
You can press right click on the file and then press H to select a program to open the blk file (it is Chinese here, my apologies, but it means “Open file (H)…”)
For some reason, only the original file did not work anymore. luckily the backup did, so i did not loose much progress. The original file just did not enter in the editor, it did not crash. But other files do.
