You can make engi squad with 4 engis, 2 AT gunners. I think this is already enough to deal with tanks.

You want to cook them for 3-4 seconds, then throw them to the bottom of the enemy tank’s tracks, typically below where the turret is mounted. This kills tanks 99% of the time, with the only real exceptions being KV-1 and KT (H). For them, throw it a little further back along the tracks, or get it on top of the hull.
With exception to these measures for individual soldiers, I run an AT gunner on almost all of my squads.
Now thats what I call power fantasies!
