johnson is gunner only bc of people complaining about select-fire rifles, so they didn’t impliment them like that.
For the record, I don’t think the Johnson LMG should be a troops choice, it just seems like an odd contradiction in the gameplay design.
In the past, I have said the FG-42 and M2 Carbine shouldn’t be a troops choice, and I still think that. I’m starting to think the AVS-36 and AVT-40 shouldn’t either.
dev dont backtrack their old work… it why we never going to see medics or bombers in old campaigns and why they invent assaulter IV for moscow instead of editing a existing assaulter unlock for it
That’s fair, but that doesn’t mean I have to like it.
nope. it just mean we are stuk with it!
I still think they’re going to have to bite the bullet eventually.
They’ve been stalling on making a sweeping rework for too long. Campaign-only reworks mitigated how far the problems can grow, but they’ll still grow.
Maybe we will even make them remove the Jumbo and copy+paste ZH.
The Jumbo isn’t a problem in a campaign that has the Panther and Tiger. It can’t reliably kill them, they can somewhat more reliably kill it. FWIW, I think adding heavier tanks in an infantry-focused game was a mistake, should have stuck with lighter armored light and medium tanks and infantry support instead of the armored beasts with big AT cannons.
More about historical accuracy. Churchill tank pls so at least we get one free British squad.
This may be true but in some campaigns we actualy have some asymmetrical balance between given weapons, tanks and aircrafts.
For example in Normandy Axis have clear advantage in tanks and infantry weapons later on but Allies have atleast better aircrafts.
How would it play if you left only some light and medium vehichles but left beasts like Ju-188 and A-20G in game?
And i think the main issue lies with those type of medium bombers, as they are impossible to balance in this game.
I mean, sure, but adding another slow, heavy beast with OP armor, that still can’t kill a greyzoned panther or tiger up the hill, is just fluff.
The A20G isn’t even the problem plane in Normandy since the bomb rework a while ago. Sure, 6x500lbs is scary, but hard to aim, and they mostly explode upward, limiting their effectiveness against infantry and requiring that they be dropped closer to tanks.
The P47, though, the free one, that thing is my favorite, and even I’ll admit it’s OPAF. 8xHVAR, any one of which will kill a Panther or Tiger if you know what you’re doing, and all of them launched at once with slaughter enemy infantry in/pushing to a point, and after that you’ve still got a 500lb bomb and 8 .50 cals.
Really, when the game first announced it was “no player controlled vehicles!”
Then it turned into “light tanks only!”
Now it’s “if you wanna be able to kill a heavy tank you better get a heavy tank”
Well. I always was in favor givng people TDs between level 10 and 20 to fight end-tanks.
And what would be different from the Jumbo apart from being more historical and ehm British?
They could give us something closer to actually usefull, like an upgunned Jumbo
Whats with this Jumob thing?
Hellcat with M93 is enough I guess.
