Can we please have inertia in game?

Could you add some sort of inertia to game? Lack of it is really annoying, especially when you use bolt action rifles.

we had inertia in the past, and got removed.

you know why?

almost no one liked sliding like a soap on ice everytime you had to shoot.

Except it was expected that devs will continue tweaking that which was prefferable option to removal.

Soap sliding or not, current movement feels extremely half assed, robot-like, and lazy.
It is definitely inferior to what we had in comparison.

That sliding makes no sense, but neither do soldiers pulling instant and multiple inversions of movement without the slightest appearance of momentum.

It doesn’t even need to be hyper realistic, the inertia in the video the OP posted looks reasonably balanced between realism and gameplay.

Also, I saw somewhere another piece of video (supposedly from alpha) where soldiers realistically leaned left or right when turning while running. Now, why would that be removed? It looked great. Did it cause issues with collisions or such? Too much resources demanding?

No reason really… it was still kind of here and worked on during CBT, but on first OBT update it vanished without a single trace.
I suspect they just decided to remove intertia and somewhat realistic movement altogether after initial unusucessful implementation.

I agree, I hate those “moonwalkers”. It breaks immersion a lot and especially if they also bunny hop and spin like crazy with hyper sensitive mouse. Also hitting them with bolt-action rifle is really difficult if they change direction of movement twice within a second and in next frame they are prone and another frame and they are sprinting full speed again. I also wish they would disable shooting while jumping as it really makes no sense.
Another related thing I noticed but those are likely bots, that they run full speed - you aim slightly ahead and fire and the moment you fired they stop in split second from running full speed so you miss.

It is somewhat paradoxical to have (supposedly) realistic ballistics, and yet a soldier can invert direction of running faster than the bullet fired at him can reach him.

bots in particular can take advantage of the lack of realistic movement. I have seen them change direction in quite erratic ways …

Turning 180 degrees on a dime … They would be all-stars playing futbol …

That’s one way I can definitely tell bots from humans

Full agree. Current movement is more like a warping than a walk / run.
Imo they could at least make it an option to turn on in CLs. Even if it would be imperfect, it would be optional.

I don’t think it was that bad, definitely preferable to MLG dancing

They could simply copy what was done in Red Orchestra… Soldiers couldn’t run full speed at the exact moment the forward key was pressed, nor could they stop like a brick after a sprint either. I liked movement there, it was immersive. Oh! Bunny hoping was also impossible there… :unamused: something we see way too often in Enlisted.

Amen to this. Yet many cod players would cry rivers …

IMHO this is something that needs to be addressed. Current movement makes no sense (instant 180° turns at full speed…).

To be fair, preventing jump and gun (bunny hoping) dolphin dives (jump, then crouch in the air while shooting) and parkinson leaning would probably make many console players leave :thinking:

Any balance right now is just straight up nuking any fun or interesting features because they are slightly off balance.
10 people abusing bots - fcking remove all of them, give back scraps, 1/5xp.
Rally points win games, no one builds them - just make them useless now, gj balance
no fun allowed
