Can we PLEASE get some way to fix holes and trenches? This is getting ridiculous!

Trenches have their uses, don’t get me wrong. However, I’m constantly running into the issue where players are trying to use trenches to counter tanks (especially problematic on D-Day).

The thing is, the players have no care about the fact that it blocks their own teams tanks as well! Not to mention it provides extra cover for the enemy when they get up to that point. Unfortunately I’m seeing more and more youtube videos and such that are just telling players to start digging to stop tanks, rather than using mines!

At least with mines it acts more like a “gate” so that your own team’s tanks can still move forward, but once theirs do, they are toast.

Can we either get a way to fill in trenches and holes (I’ve seen a couple of good suggestions about adding an alternative fire button onto the shovel in order to do just this),
OR
At the very least pop up some text advising players to use mines rather than digging trenches when starting to dig in major road choke areas?

It would be very much appreciated and would greatly help gameplay!

How does it make sense for it to be okay for friendly tanks to drive over mines dropped by teammates, but it’s problematic for friendly tanks to get stuck in a hole, on account of not paying attention to where they are driving?
Please do not nerf trenches and holes, as it’s only going to give moronic teammates another tool to sabotage fortifications, by filling in the holes that players have spent valuable time to dig…
It’s already a long process to dig an effective trench and/or large hole…
Don’t make it worse by allowing trolls the option to follow behind and fill in whatever we’ve dug.

And yes, it’s unfortunate when a friendly tank falls into a friendly hole.
Tough luck.
Maybe pay attention next time. Lesson learned…
And at the same time, a stuck tank is an even better road block. Even if it’s a friendly tank.

And it’s also unfortunate to dig a nice hole… only to lose it soon after, once the enemy caps the objective.
Again… tough.luck.

Laughs in Churchill, the only tank with a WW1 design made for crossing trenches.

Not that this is helpful for anyone smart enough not to blow their money away…

this is actually a non-issue imo.

Ofc if you build tank traps make sure to build them wisely. Same if you like to place barbed wire, go ahead, but think first.

I have never encounterd any problems with friendly tank traps since I started playing this game.

And on D-day why would you push through all the way down to beachhead anyway.

I was just using D-Day as a common example. I’ve encountered it on tons of other maps too.

Everyone is so quick to complain about tanks sitting in the greyzone camping, but fairly often I run into the issue that I can’t get OUT of the greyzone due to trenches dug by teammates! Its one thing when its a wire pit that is 2 wide and can be crossed by tanks, that I don’t have a problem with. Its the ones that are dug with the specific intention of stopping tanks that I have the issue.

Le Bre West (I think is the name of another major one), where it has the stone bridge crossings. players dig out the ends of the bridges making it extremely difficult to pass to the other side without a massive detour. They do it to their own team! Idk if its done to try to stop enemies, or to troll teammates, or to stop tanks in an attempt to get more kills for themselves, but it’s becoming increasingly common. I try to push up and help take the pressure off my team, which I know full well makes me a big target, but that’s the point! If I can draw their focus and their fire, it gives my teammates more chance to fortify, or to move to better positions without getting harassed as much. It’s better than sitting in the greyzone picking off people that have little chance to fight back while the rest of my team gets pummeled.

i do get stuck alot on premade trenches by my own stupidity
but i m yet to find myself inside a friendly hole… might be an issue sure… but… cant u just go around i wonder?

what you ask is more than fair and a valid suggestion. but , one will need to get out of the tank to "fill it " when all of the maps present one can just avoid said hole and drive around :expressionless:

In a lot of the situations that I am finding them, the answer for the most part is no. They are putting them at choke points that the only way around them means driving for an addition 2 minutes, or not able to pass at all.

Not necessarily. I primarily focus on running engineers and constantly providing support for my team. There have been many times where I am nearby and my buddy is trying to move up in a Tiger tank, just to find out there is a hole dug on our path up to the point at a choke.
I would happily run back and fill it, or fill it if I saw it otherwise. Most of my squads carry at least 2 AT mines, so as I said before, I can make a “gate” in that area to allow our team to pass through.

The digging trenches as a form of AT is ridiculous as AT mines should be used to allow team function.

Let me ask you this: if teammates could put up an impassible barrier in a door that you need to frequently go through, or put mines in it to stop enemies, which would you prefer that they do?

i’m sorry…

but if you see a hole, and you drive right into it with a tank, it’s called natural selection at this point.

Spacial awareness is most important when driving a multi-ton vehicle. Just like in real life, a video game simulator, is no different (especially enlisted).
