Just sayin, since the BR2 Beretta is pretty much a straight upgrade there isnt any reason to use MP40 at the moment.
Is there a way to buff it, like better dispersion perhaps?

I actually still use it as my go to BR 2 SMG (and often even past that, I make it work just because it’s so iconic), despite the multitude of people screaming that there are way better same BR alternatives. But I’ll be honest, a dispersion buff would be nice, a slow firing but very accurate and stable shooting gun is a nice trade off.
The PPSh-41 box needs its disperion fixed too… just a casual reminder to anyone (hopefully helpers) reading…

Personally I’d decrease it’s recoil if anything. In 90% of videos of ppl shooting it (typically alongside other ww2 SMGs) they say it has basically no recoil. So imo it could be a good way to buff it and make it imitate it’s real life behaviour a bit more.

I have observed this too, it kind of just vibrates in the shooters hand.

They could make it the worst SMG in the game. I’d still use it.
As it currently is. It fires nice, controllable, solid hit power. I don’t think it needs a buff… I think it’s the other guns need a bit of a nerf… They seem a bit too fast and a bit too accurate for what they should be.

That’s a thought too, but I hope that would be a universal BR 2 nerf, rather than just nerfing all German/Italian BR 2 SMGs that aren’t the MP 38/40…

We could always consider dropping the MP40 to level one where it is guaranteed to be used, and appreciated. Drop it along with the FNAB 43 to level one where both would be used. There are to many other level two options which push both of these two SMG’s to the side. Besides, the Soviets have the PPD34 which would still be superior.
Or if nothing else, drop the MP 38 and the FNAB if the FNAB is not going to get a ROF increase.

MP40 is a better gun for noob or anyone who can’t handle the recoil

MP40 as is but with PPSH 41 box dispersion and no recoil and slightly increased damage BUT in BR 3

Pretty much exactly how the so called ass-ymmetrical balance should have been.
Let them soviets have the cqc bullethoses but grant the accuracy ( Less dispersion + less recoil ) for slower GE smg’s making them obviously inferior in cqc but better as jack of all trades.
But since the ppsh stick outguns a stg44 at 80m I doubt its going to ever happen.

Buff recoil and dispersion slightly. The damage and sights are good but I agree a small tweak would be OK

the beretta m38/42 is the meta gun if you want power, but the mp40 is not exactly useless
