At first a couple years ago, I thought it was kind of a cool and novel idea taking off an Aircraft Carrier, or the water with a Jap float plane, however, it’s novelty at least for me has just been a constant irritant. First off, it takes entirely too long (especially in the float plane) to start the engine, taxi and take off.
Last night I played a level one game with the Japanese, got in my float plane while we’re defending a cap point and the cap point was still untouched by the enemy. By the time I fired the engine, taxied acrost the water, took off and then flew the 3,000 meters or what ever distance that 3,000 signifies the “ENTIRE” cap point was taken. NTM that Jap planes, especially low level planes are brutally slow. So, if we’re going to be forced to endure the takeoffs, can we at least cut the initial flying distance to the target so the time on target is the same as those who start off in the air? Is that too much to ask?
To me, the equivalent would be forcing people who play tanks to have to run from their barracks, load the dudes in the tank, fire up the engine before starting off on their way to the front, it’s a wasted additional 15 or 20 seconds for no apparent reason.
Get rid of it, or apply takeoffs to all planes, and add additional time for Tankers as well because if plane lovers have to be annoyed we might as well just annoy them with additional wasted time while were at it.
Ability to spam M8 / HVAR what ever at the start of round is absolutely ridiculous.
Problem which is enhanced in low BR where all? murrican planes spawn in air.
I don’t play Japanese much, but my goodness that Jap float plane just takes for ever to get off the water and even longer to get to the cap point. I only play level one and two with Japan as that is all I have fully tech tree’d, I’m still treeing level four and five.
No, aircraft carriers are cool. We should have planes that don’t need to take off from the carrier come from further away without changing ammunition supply points.
on that case and if we increase the distace for getting on the map + add the standard timer that doesnt allow players to use aircraft during first minutes?
problem is mostly the fact that americans can literally blow anything in less than a few secods when it comes to pacific so maybe any solution to avoid this (or at least on early game ) will be appreciated
Maybe an option to choose from, like APCs, where you can go out without APC or with APC (you won’t be able to repair it if you don’t take off from the carrier).
If I recall correctly pacific maps have airfields somewhere. I remember flying over something that looked like an airfield on the way to the ammo point so that could be a solution for non carrier aircraft. Instead of removing them make other take off on airfields, and possibly allow repairs there. It does increase the time spent from spawning in an airplane and arriving at the map though.
If DF wants to keep the carrier or water take off in the game, fine, but make EVERY faction have to take off from the ground. Figure the timing out so it takes EVERY faction the same amount of time to get their planes off the ground and to the cap point. While we’re at it, lets slow the tanks down and make them have to load their personal, fire the tank engine up and motor out of the base thus slowing them down an additional 20 or 30 seconds as well. I bet there would be a huge outcry amongst tank lovers if they had to piddle around with stupid shit before heading to their favorite gray zone spot to blast cap points, which they can do every few seconds I might add as opposed to a plane.
