Can i get rid of desertion penalty by playing other faction?

For example i just crash at the beginning and it count as me deserting so can i get rid of it by playing other faction 2 time before doing “join any team”? or do i have to do it only with “join any team”?

also it should always tell you if you have desertion penalty apply or not on the thing

The desertion penallty when joining any team lasts only for the next match, and only for the join any team function.

I agree with your second point though, it would be helpful to be told that you’re going to miss out on the bonuses due to desertion.
