Campaign Idea: What If? (Arcade)

I thought this would be a game mode that would incorporated any squad you have in the current game you could que into.

What happens in What IF? Well I though an interesting way in a WW2 game and have an anything goes mode, like War thunder you have GE/USA/Russian/Italian tanks all beside each other. What if we had a mode that all factions can play together, and can level different campaigns together OR gain a bonus for using the same faction (110% exp or 33% split between all 3)

So in What IF you can take any squad you have unlocked AS IS, and bring them into this mode. When you que you will be put into the axis/allied faction of that battle. So you can spawn into the AXIS side with a british squad/russian squad/usa squad equiped or Allied as Japan/GE/Italy… essentially every squad could be a mix of whatever. You could level multiple campaigns (a big issue is someone who maxed out GE and now maxing out USA, running that campaign with friends feels mostly like a waste of time.)

To fix the issue of models the easiest solution I thought of is your player model just becomes that of the side you where chosen on. So an Assault would have his model changed to the german assault squad but holding the weapons from the faction they chosen and vice versa. So there is no confusion of who’s who.

Vehicles squads I thought the nice idea would be painting an image of an AXIS/Allied symbol so if you get to see them from afar, but honestly you would have the blue box over them and know they’re not an enemy.

Why What IF? (Arcade Mode)

  1. Well a big issue that’s been popping up that people are realizing, bots are being put into the teams. As a big issue is the community is way to split up. This would be an arcade mode that could group everyone together and remove unbalanced bot matches.

  2. Allows you to level up other factions or allied/axis but still play with your friends. A big issue once you maxed out a campaign is, you dont feel like you’re earning anything. This could solve the issue with Player 1 being able to use another campaign army with player 2/3/4.

  3. Matches are more casual, and in an odd way more balanced. Annoyed every early on match you’re getting chewed by russian bullet hoses… YOU CAN NOW EQUIP THOSE BULLET HOSES! and have 2 german squads to act as your non-assault squads!. Really think the Sherman Jumbo is OP, CATCH ALL THE TNT AND INSTANTLY DIE BECAUSE YOU’RE SLOW AS F***!

  4. Match tiers
    Not all weapons classes are made equal so I was thinking of certain tiers could be made for certain weapons. I thought it would be interesting to disect and playing certain maps with certain limits.

PIAT/ZOOK/PANZER are NOT ALLOWED (Empty 2nd slot bombers will be given an anti-tank rifle.)

Semi-Auto non snipers are allowed
PIAT/ZOOK/PANZER are allowed

Idea of the tiers

Why tiers? well it would be easier to balance the game off what you expect new players to have especially depending on the Campaign, later improved guns could be given higher tiers (drum mag thompson/PPD could be put on above tiers so.) Why, if I was bringing a friend into the game, I’m sure he doesn’t want to play against entire squads full of LMG run and gunners only equiped with the bolt action and starting smg, or entire squad of semi-auto really either.

How would it work: Goes off the best equipped soldier, you can’t cheese in a bunch of low tier stuff and sneak in an FG42.

Why I feel it’s fun, it really would be funny to see certain maps played by certain tiers, playing the battle for berlin with tankettes and bolt actions instead of end war guns. Playing Moscow with high end tanks, Normandy Beach and you run to the MG nest to see a Tiger staring you down. It would be like Warthunder arcade mode where you see a B17 being protected by an BF109’s and Japanese planes.

Also another Idea for what if is instead of any team you can que What IF? instead of just Normandy but you get a 1.1 or 1.2 exp boost for doing so (putting yourself at a disadvantage of not picking what you think is the best X squad with best equipment to only using one team.)

This is not War Thunder and this is a bad idea because it will ruin the immersion of the game and it will split the playerbase so this is a huge no no for me.

I disagree, your ideas are completely not suited for an FPS game. I understand you come from war thunder but Enlisted is not even close to war thunder. I came to play realistic FPS, not some arcade stupidity that will ruin this game’s reputation.

Not to mention that this playerbase has already been split between lone wolf and squads. Arcade mode will just split the community in 4 pieces

In my opinion, all those people who play War thunder and have enlisted as their ‘‘backup War thunder’’ should be forbidden to make ‘‘I wAnt infAntRy thUndEr’’ posts on forum

You delete this thread and never make it again. Everything in this thread is complete trash and has no place in an FPS game.

Or you know, do something in exactly the opposite direction:
Equipment limited by how common it was in that particular time of campaign. More rare equipment takes more “cooldown” and get spawned.
Friendly fire enabled and no friendly markers of any kind.
No hit or death markers.
No aim assist on tanks, at guns or airplanes.
Automatic kick, based on TK count/frequency.
2-3 times larger areas for strategic points.
No rally points but much larger spawn areas.

I feel a big issue to solve is how do we combine all the player bases, to deal with the bot matches, is to combine all the fights as they’ve already kneecapped themselves as we know these 4 campaigns aren’t going to be the only one as the player base is quite split.

Lone Wolf/Squad - Italy (Canada vs Italy, Normandy is filled with a Canadian WW2 gun and a bunch of italian guns.)

This should be the base game. Points are too close that makes normandy a semi-auto wasteland.

Well, too bad then. But we can calculate that allies won’t be able to run more than 20-30 meters in a time that bomb falls and explode.

So the M2 Carbine in normandy, the B-hopping MG42’s/BREN’s who are drop shotting squads, the Tank using the same mg that requires multiple hits but when held in infantry requires 1 shot instead… Again nothing would force you to play this mode.

IF you want the bomb to arm for tanks, you have to drop it that it will hit them in 3 seconds. Yeah you can run 20-30 m in 3 seconds. You developed a mode that no one in an A-20 or the entire germany Normandy side never play it.

  • Pacific was not confirmed
  • China will most likely never come
  • Bulge was not confirmed. M2 Carabine is a result from lack of history knowledge by developers. same goes to the implementation of M3a2 Sherman in Normandy. Plus devs said that there will be no wipe after OBT
  • Italy vs Canada was not confirmed. Italian guns were tested for Tunisia and Ross gun is the only Canadian weapon in Enlisted

You where the one concerned with bombs hitting allies… if you think that 20 meters is too much, I don’t even know then.

Well you already have arcade gameplay, and i love using the LMG to run and gun squads down, hip firing them.

Well chances are they’re going to be added. Since the cash flow is designed around campaigns. I’ve got 25/23 level in normandy. They would need to add more levels and more stuff that where not used.

Normandy is already arcadey as it has no immersion to normandy

These would have to be taken out to be correct immersion for Normandy

20m in game units is next to nothing. People sprint b/hop to a point 100-200m away in 5-10 seconds

That would be 72 km/h. You might want to reconsider that statement.

Oh trust me, because a meter in game isn’t a meter in reality. Playing mortar, when objective is 200 it’s the same as objective distance.

With my slowest standard soldier this was a 10 second run to run 144m

It doesn’t matter how it’s measured in the game. We are talking about actual distance. It’s not difficult to understand how far away you need to drop your bombs.

Except you have to use game units, since 20m from a bomb in game with blast radius to their real life versions…

Ffs, drop them 300 meters away then. Is it such a difficult concept to understand? There are games out there with friendly fire. It’s not some novelty concept we are talking about.

M3 did see use in Normandy

Springfield M1903A1 was one of the best snipers used by the US in WW2. It was the standard sniper of USMC while the regular army used the M1903A4 as their standard sniper.

M1903A1 was suited for long range sniping while M1903A4 was used for Medium range sniping

This gun was in fact used by Wehrmacht but only in very limited numbers

This gun should be used in Berlin by Volksturm as it was too rare to see so much use in Normandy

This rifle was used by the German army in France, Normandy

Italian guns are being tested for Tunisia, FNAB will most likely be given to Italian units in Normandy

This gun was used by SS until the very end of WW2
