Vote system to call for surrender
So when the matches are brutally unbalanced and you are on your way to lose, you can just forfeit midway and go to another match
No just dumb
noted
when games are brutally unbalanced it is probably over faster than the Surrender Lock out window most games have.
It’s hard to endorse this idea. Teams would just vote for it every time they lost the first point.
I sometimes think that if more than 5 players desert a game it should be surrendered (with no penalty to those who stayed), but I’d rather they just fix the reasons people desert.
This! Cleetus is onto something
Reason number 1. Games go too bloody long. They should be limited to 20 minutes. Id be open to 25 minutes if necessary (for whatever weird reason apparently Enlisted players want really long games).
I never understand why its so hard for people to comprehend that if you want to play the game more, great, just join another battle when your first one finishes.
At the moment youre forced to stay in a crappy battle that goes for almost an hour or more that is not fun, youre frustrated, tired, bored, and have far better things to do. That’s an excellent way to turn people off the game.
Limit matches to 20 minutes, you know what youre in for when you start. You wont have a battle that ends in 8 minutes, nor one that lasts 58 minutes.
People shouldnt be punished for deserting. We have a thing called a LIFE. I know some gamers dont know what that is. (Ive had people tell me you should just get water beforehand, try go to toilet beforehand, take the phone off the hook etc. which is INSANE for a silly computer game)
Now, I understand its annoying when half your team leaves just because you lost the first point or whatever.
But firstly how often does that actually happen?
Ive had some battles where lots of people have left, but thats usually because its one of these long drawn out boring, frustrating battles Ive described. If youre not enjoying a computer game, leave. I fully support people doing that.
The devs should make games fairer and more enjoyable, not punish players for being mature enough to get on with their life instead of wasting time on a pasttime they arent enjoying.
Ultimately people will leave for various reasons. Some people are just noobs, and we cant stop that. War Thunder you dont get punished for leaving and WT is still going fine for years now.
Pretty rare for them to go much longer than 20 mins. I cant remember what the average game time was @robihr did an analysis.
Incidently all your games for last couple of weeks have been 12-18 minutes long.
This I can also agree with, deserting is an issue but they don’t need to put a penalty on it and call it a day. It’s better than look at the reasons why people are deserting.
20 min is too short, if it’s long it’s good.
Ok, what length in your opinion is “good”?
Its not that rare. 30 minutes is probably the average but 45 and 50 minute games definitely do happen. Ive timed them.
Either way I dont understand why we NEED these super long games. As I said, if we made it 20 or 25 minutes limit and you want to play for longer, thats fine. Just join the next battle.
1 hour max. And that’s only possible in the confrontation Tug of War style anyway, which is also the best game mode in terms of attack/Defence balance.
The opposite is Conquest, which is 10 min fragfest of nothing, the game is over before anything even really begins.
Thank you. Players are always an angry mob Punish the deserters! when ithe best thing the developers can do is determine why people are deserting and address those issues.
Indeed players should say if they are deserting, why that is, and we all work together to resolve those problems.
An hour is too long for a single match. Again I advocate for having a set time limit regardless of the game style so you know how long the game will be, and again if you want to play longer you can just play again.
You check times here: Enlisted
No one in this thread has been in a game over 24 minutes in the last few weeks. The majority between 10-15 mins
Long games are possible, but are the exception not the rule, and nearly always Confrontation only.
Except playing again is no guarantee of a good game, any match that lasts 1 hour is de-facto a good game because it means one team couldn’t stomp the other in 10 minutes.
here is min, max and average time by map played.
also global crossplay on
and by campaign crossplay on
The shortest match lasted 5:27.
It’s not even worth waiting in the matchmaker queue. Not to mention loading screens.
“A match that lasts an hour is de facto a good game” LOL what a broad and incorrect statement. A match that lasts an hour is far more likely to be long, frustrating and boring.
Id also hardly see a team getting stomped in 10 minutes in a 20-25 minute game…
Now I agree with you its not good when one team just gets smashed and its all over literally in 10 minutes. Hence why I ask for a specific limit. 20-25 is a reasonable time for each team to achieve something without just being an endless slog.
