When I first downloaded the game about three years ago, being free I thought it was going to be some cheesy game with crappy graphics. Then when I saw it was pretty cool I was scratching my head as to why DF would give people a free game. They give you the very basics for free, everything else is for profit. If they did like most other games and sold you the game outright, that is a one time profit, however if they give you the game, dangle carrots in front of you and get you addicted, then they can milk you for life. 
DF knew what they were doing.

No - everything else is for INCOME - profit only comes if they get enough income to cover expenditure.

Ah - didn’t know that - nonetheless with only a 50% drop for “special weapons” it is also useful to team mates who HAVE unlocked them but not picked anything up yet.
Good point, but I am quite sure they are profitable or they would have closed shop on Enlisted by now. 
And don’t get me wrong, I am not opposed to them trying to make money as if they weren’t, we wouldn’t have a game to play.
Living on this planet is also optional, what’s your point?

But if I haven’t made it clear: The event is optional. You get some free stuff for participating. There is an incentive for paying gold to unlock the extra non-free stuff. But you’re under no obligation to do either.
Which never was a thing. Not once it has this been like that. Event squads never were locked behind paywall.
So it’s quite obvious why people are mad as hell. We don’t want this trend to continue. It’s shameless.
Plus as F2p, there’s chance you won’t even get the squad you want. Because it all depends on RNG.

It’s an optional free event with paid incentives, literally how every f2p does it. I didn’t pay $70 for this game so how is it predatory?
Are you illiterate? I literally describe it. I will just block you, you are completely lost case.
For example RD-44 bundle is prime example of predatory practices.
It cost just little bit more gold than 25e bundle with 2800 gold (RD-44 bundle is 2900+).

We have the right to choose whether to pay for the games we like or whether to work hard for them
But we also hope that the official will not regard normal players who love this game as the legally responsible person to pay the fine for the operator’s stupidity.
Brother in Christ this is feedback for developers, so they don’t have surprised pikatchu face in a year when another money grab scheme doesn’t work and game keeps dying in the background

dam that suck ngl it mean that everytime i pick up a gun for my task it didnt count all along? (altho i swear my BA task today count even tho i use enemy gun)
Might have been a bug too. Mates did not unlock ANY semi auto yet…
But either way… this kind of restriction just sucks.
Because when you think about it, and the fact most of those ugly bloody guns are locked behind a pay wall…

yea i know i dont like that too, just imagine a guy willing to pay for the rd44 to help their friend grind only to find out later that their friend cant use it. that 3k gold gone down the drain for nothing
thing is nobody have it so it just a theory but im sure it is 80% correct (unless it is an exception somehow but no one can confirm that)
The saddest part is that there’s nothing to really win in this event.
