Darkflow will monetize breathing before they make any fun event again.
Like this one simple decision to add a paid battlepass made this good concept into a shitfest.
Oh we improved the random boxes? - Yeah by resticting what you get in them by pointless battlepass rewards, also no pistols or swords from them, waaaay more fun yeah.
Oh guess what, we can’t just have people that paid drop their cool guns to their poor friends, so no picking up guns if someone looted it from the box. - Oh what you only have FG and need to grind this mode for hours just to pick up a gun someone wanted to drop you? No funsiez here, this a real ww2 shooter.
But thank god in this event where cooperation is key, we have game lobbies and friend system with messaging - oh wait, don’t have time for that, gotta pump another premium squad.
The game doesn’t even has the decency to not punish 3 remaining players when someone deserts, everyone gets same punishment soviet style. But hey, how could they though of this when their only thoughs are how to milk more $$$.
This in addition to veteran boxes which allows you to completly skip event grind may just be my FOMO breaking point. Why even grind this shit when it’s gonna be in box in a year for some silver chump change.
Players keep mentioning slippery slope, but we going downhill freefall from that slope for years already, all falling on deaf df ears
They haven’t learned anything from Campaign Full Access passes. They want people divided by f2p (only few unlocks much slower BP leveling rate) and paying (best guns and halved missions required to reach max lvl).
They truly monetized everything even the events, i guess with the next update we will have to pay for ammo (like in WT but worse since even your PPSh-41 will have to pay silver to reload) and logging in to the game.
This “feature” is not JUST confined to the Halloween event. My mates joined the game during the Breda Pg event. One of the tasks, was to frag enemies with semi autos. Ofc having just joined, my mates didn’t have access to those yet… So I dropped mines on the ground for them to pick up. They could… But the frags done with those, did NOT count for their event task…
If You complete the event early, you are hindering your team by opening those boxes yourself, chances are most of the gun you drop your teammates won’t be able to use, and now they can’t even open those boxes themselves and are limited for few guaranteed ones.
Couple that with the fact that players that completed event are more likely to know where those boxes are, the new player experience keeps getting worse each day - just like to good old enlisted without matchmaking lol
The amount of silver required to do that is so far beyond what people who weren’t around for those events have it’s ridiculous. I don’t know why you would cry about this in such exaggerated, inaccurate fashion.
When I first downloaded the game about three years ago, being free I thought it was going to be some cheesy game with crappy graphics. Then when I saw it was pretty cool I was scratching my head as to why DF would give people a free game. They give you the very basics for free, everything else is for profit. If they did like most other games and sold you the game outright, that is a one time profit, however if they give you the game, dangle carrots in front of you and get you addicted, then they can milk you for life. DF knew what they were doing.
Ah - didn’t know that - nonetheless with only a 50% drop for “special weapons” it is also useful to team mates who HAVE unlocked them but not picked anything up yet.
Good point, but I am quite sure they are profitable or they would have closed shop on Enlisted by now. And don’t get me wrong, I am not opposed to them trying to make money as if they weren’t, we wouldn’t have a game to play.
But if I haven’t made it clear: The event is optional. You get some free stuff for participating. There is an incentive for paying gold to unlock the extra non-free stuff. But you’re under no obligation to do either.
Are you illiterate? I literally describe it. I will just block you, you are completely lost case.
For example RD-44 bundle is prime example of predatory practices.
It cost just little bit more gold than 25e bundle with 2800 gold (RD-44 bundle is 2900+).
DF knew what they were doing. 
And don’t get me wrong, I am not opposed to them trying to make money as if they weren’t, we wouldn’t have a game to play.
