you would get executed for using Hollow points lol

Germany declared the trench shotgun as inhumane simply because it created wounds that doctors of that time and even today were/are unable to cure . There was no way to fix that damaged part of the torso - if you got hit in the chest all they could do was the “coup de grace”.ww1

When used in combat, the WW1 sawback bayonet with 29 razor-sharp teeth became extremely unpopular for all sides for a number of reasons. The first was due to when it was thrust into the enemy. The sawback edge would tear out the insides of the victim leading to gruesome injuries and prolonged, agonizing death.

As a result of Allied soldiers began torturing and executing on-site any German soldiers captured with such weapons in revenge. Consequently, the German High command made a decision to recall all of the German sawback bayonets in 1917 and grind off the saw back edge before reissuing them to all units.

Dum-dum (hollow point) bullets were/ are also banned. Exploding shells less than 37mm wide were/ are banned.

Hague Convention that the French enforced. Of course poison gas was banned. Since there weren’t any German chemists to execute, it got deployed

and none of these weapons was ever used is warfare

In Eastern Front, german and Soviet Sniper use explosive ammo, because one of them didn’t agreed with the Geneva Convention, the Eastern front and Pacific Front are pretty much War Crime Simulator

More variety in bullets wouldn’t “really” change gameplay all that much, like whats the point of AP rounds when there isn’t body armor in the game?

In H&G you can damage light tanks and planes with AP bullets, also they usually increase projectile speed and some damages + more recoil

The Soviets in some campaigns have body armor and it reduces the damage of pistols

H&G had hollow point ammo for recon plane mg and the descriptions said that even though against the regulations, snipers would steal some of the ammo to try out on the enemy XD.

I tried H&G back in the day, and let me tell you I was disgusted by its design.

The implementation of such mechanics would only result in a global gun damage nerf, to make room for such mechanic having an effect to begin with.

Enlisted has already lost too much of its charm when it comes to time to kill, every weapon with the exception of bolt actions had been massively nerfed since CBT - with only MGs being arguably justified.

We dont need functioning body armor, we don’t need AP ammo, we don’t need hollow points.
Getting hit by a rifle round should drop you no matter the variant of bullet.

If anything we should argue about nerfing the vitality perk to bring its bonus to survivability in line with the bonus of damage from weapon upgrades.

35% extra HP + potentially even more for paratroopers and flametroopers vs
10% - 20% extra damage has been hurting the game for ever.

That’s yellow tip explosive ammo

Oh right sorry, you are right. my first language trolled me here

Not really.
You could have notmal ammo, AP ammo to damage light vehicles, no tracer ammo for MGs, high velocity bullets that are better at long range but deal lower damage at short due to overpenetration (yes it’s BS, but so is HP system).

So there are ways to add such things.
Separate question is: do we need them.

Personally I’d like to see gun modification system similar to H&G instead of tge current one that exists only to increase grind.

Bad idea, H&G balanced gun customization with repair costs, the more modifications you had on it, the more expensive the repair was.

Talk about repair costs here and you will get yourself lynched before you could ever finish explaining your idea.

I meant everything except maintnance cost.

There were like 5 gun parts that could be changed and all had some ups and downs. It was a much better system than this borring joke we have here.

I think we can be thankful to geneva…even if it’s not totally respected

H&G killed itself with each update, what cripple the weapon modification is the insane repair cost, the shite reward and the grind, and doesn’t help they nerf guns to unusable state, like the german MGs with insane recoil
