We have a tracked vehicle that can barely go off road. The slightest hill and the half tracks almost come to a halt. This is very noticable in tunisia and the bulge maps when moving up hill. Can we possibly make it so they can go up a hill faster than a leisurely stroll, and give them better traction when off road.
Hear hear!
I have found this.
Its other APCs as well.
I was driving the Japanese lorry yesterday and it could not get up a minor hill. There was a road, I wasnt trying to scale a cliff here.
But it was doing like 2km/h. I say that because in War Thunder the Char B1 Bis has a reverse speed of 3 km/h and this truck seemed even slower than that.
Its crazy.
And then the American Studebaker it struggles up a hill but will roll down it with no ability to brake. Even on flat ground it just rolls and rolls. Someone learnt Newton’s Laws of Physics and took them way too seriously with the American APC.
But I agree especially for the Sdkfz given as you say its a friggin halftrack.
I really wish Allies had a tech tree Universal Carrier and Axis had an Italian truck. That way we would have a British/Italian APC squad option as well, but also a choice between a tracked or wheeled vehicle.
haha the only decent apc is the universal carrier…lol…actually good off road
We have listened to you, we will be buffing Soviet APC engine in the next update. Your dear Dark Gaijin.
With the studebaker that fu*** the mind really they need a handbrake option and i saw a suggestion about that would be usefull
True with the uni carrier but i lkie the baker more and need a handbrake option for it
buff all unarmed apcs
Until you meet its mortal enemy…
Train tracks…
Most of the train track Elite Bosses got nerfed enough to get over. There is still one or two left though
I dont know if its traction of all vehicles or the engine power itself but barely any vehicles in this game can go off-road, with the only ones often needing to be already going fast. Even mild inclines are enough to make the vehicle slip, and then there’s trenches which are absolutely uncrossable most of the time.
Agreed.
It’s funny Hell Let Loose you start the engine and as you drive the soldier is clearly shown changing gears with appropriate engine noise and occasional shudder.
Enlisted cant even add a friggin handbrake.
Even Roblox vehicles had the ability to press shift or whatever key to apply a parking brake. (note some Roblox vehicles are surprisingly detailed they arent all the Lego style ones you associate with Roblox)
There is also a Roblox game with sailing ships where you had the ability to lock the steering by clicking a prompt.
The reason I mention that is it would be good if we could allow anyone to use APCs, and if the owner doesnt want people moving it they just lock it.
Why would I want to move other people’s APCs? Because sometimes they are in a stupid position or the driver got shot so theyre left out in the open, or abandoned and way behind the objective etc.
Yeah, APCs should be movable by the team, not just by the original squad that is spawned with. It would make life a hell of a lot easier, as most of the time, the only people moving them would be the original owners who placed them there, or someone else to put it behind better cover.
I would like it if I could spawn an APC squad, without the APC into one of my existing ones and move it (I tried it once…didnt work?)
But I would HATE it if any random Blueberry could take over my APC…
or at least any squad of the owner of the APC
I hear you and I agree. Hence my suggestion of the ability to lock the APC.
Sometimes Id love to move someone elses APC over a bit so that the team can use a rallypoint and the APC or two APCs (when spawning on the map an APC icon can completely block out a rallypoint icon making it impossible to select said rallypoint, there is a similar issue with another APC parked close together.
Some people arent smart enough to not park right next to another APC but also many maps only have 1 or 2 places where an APC or rallypoints can be reasonably placed to be close enough to the point to be effective and behind some form of cover.
I 110% agree about the ability to at the very least move your own APC with other soldiers.
Having a designated driver is an annoying class to me and there have been times where iirc some of my APC squad have actually been able to take over.
I once argued that most soldiers in WWII could drive, someone claimed a lot couldnt, but either way it’s irrelevant because in Enlisted any soldier can drive a car or generated truck (eg Opel Blitz) and even a tank provided theres a free seat.
So why cant everyone be able to operate an APC? I dont think the game will be ruined if people have more control over moving their APC.
Players should be rewarded (not financially) for being smart enough to go to their existing APC and drive it forward or back as needed. Rather than having to spawn with an entirely new APC way back in Timbuktu and drive aaallll the way to the objective (which has already been captured or lost) and try and find a space behind the burning old APC (why your old APC doesnt just disappear when you spawn a new one I dont know).
It’s kinda funny sometimes when theres this small building and all these broken APCs behind it like a scene from The Blues Brothers.
I just want to bring up the point that whenever a friendly abandons their tank and it’s still completely functional…
You can hop in with your own squad and take over control of it
Why can’t we do the same for APCs?
Darkflow makes no sense half the time.
We’ll forward it, thanks
