Agree, I recently picked up random Madsen off the ground. And it felt like quite decent weapon.
But I really haven’t analyzed the weapon any further than that xD

This RPK uses stores from AVS
I declare responsibly that AVS can have a magazine for 20 rounds. Our scouts found this information and transmitted it more than once
The developers accepted our opinion but did not give an answer.
Therefore, both AVS and RPK can theoretically receive a 20 charge magazine.
I’m sorry if the translator lies sometimes)
You’ll have to provide the research, This is a 1943 weapon, and anything over 15rds in Soviet arsenal does not work for 7.62x54R - its why RD44 goes to a 100rd drum mag. Springs were quite shit during wartime era.
Its very likely you have it confused with later Kalashnikov designs.
There are TONS of historical desins /protos that can easily be put in the lower BR tech tree. Keep the RPK-43 where it should be, as a BP.
The Madsen change is a good thing, but the Soviets still only have one 2 BR machine gun in their progression tree, while other factions have several. It would be nice to have more variety in terms of machine guns for all factions.
Overall lack of variety is serious issue for Soviet faction. At least from my point of view.
BR 2/3 is actually more scarce/less options than even Japan - PPS + PPsh41 only for SMGs, Madsen and DP for MGs, no BR2 semi.
Some more distinct variants would be nice, like DP 1938 Jap style at BR2
and maybe some slow firing drum mag SMG for BR3, simply so there’s more selection here
Mkb35 type mid BR assault rifles are also possible, prob as event/BP for balance
Honestly kinda weird devs forgot about this very played Soviet BR bracket - maybe if/when Manchuria comes along.
I already love the RPK for what it is as a novel MG that can be used more like a semi auto rifle with its 15 round mag
I dont think it needs to be changed from what it already offers (a unique weapon that there is nothing like)
On the russian forum а long time require 20-round magazine.
BUT SOVIET MG IS VERY STRONG!!!
Its only logical that this is the case - Germany and US have gear from many other campaigns and sub factions, Soviets have just soviet gear.
I’d like to see them both as well, but I guarantee you that the die hard German players would scoff at any mag size over 20-25 rounds for level two and would certainly piss and moan at a 40 round level two mag size. I supposed a 20-25 level two, 40 round level three and 75 level four.
Ahh, but the way DF does, if it was built, they can add it whether it had problems or not.
I should try a Madsen again as I haven’t used one since I got the RPK’s
They need to increase the mag size as it is a great MG, but in some ways a liability with only 15 rounds. This gun needs at least the 20 rounds and tech tree for level two.
The research is just a google search, so if it’s wrong its wrong. But I copied and pasted what it said about the RPK, the description wasn’t my words, it was from a search. This part is from the search.
RPK machine gun is not limited to a 15-round magazine. It can use a variety of magazines, including 40-round box magazines, 75-round drum magazines, and standard AKM detachable box magazines
I searched RPK 1943, and that is what came up. Now, they don’t say what year those mags and drums were available, just that they were options.
DF IMOP needs to put out more level two semi auto’s.
You know, I agree that it would be nice to have 20 rounds.
Personally, I see DPM paratrooper for the role of MADSEN’s “neighbor”.
He looks like Madsen, so there will be fewer objections.
At least that’s what I think.
I love bayonets, and I think it’s tempting to give out a DPM bayonet similar to the Japanese type 99 or 96.
how many people have so many opinions, maybe developers will be satisfied with another option .
I just hope that there will be at least something for the Soviet-Japanese clash.
I am not a fan of the shark fin mags on top, which is one reason that every MG I use has it on the bottom, with the exception of the level two Japanese Hotchkiss which has a clip that runs from right to left through the gun. It looks gay, but fires smooth.
Gorov be like))))))))))
that’s why I say that there are a lot of machine guns for 2 br and the choice is huge
The choice, of course, is up to the developer
Its extremely likely the mag sizes in question (40round mag, AKM mag etc) are in relation to RPK machine gun which is incredibly common in post soviet space. RPK-43 by comparison is incredibly rare
No worries, thats what research is for.
Honestly id love to see this as a Low BR new paratrooper squad weapon, looks great
They Should move the DP-27 to BR-2 because that was in production before the war started.
