It’s an event squad weapon, so it’s not exactly something I hold in top priority, but why on Earth is this thing so bad? It suffers from terrible recoil, slow ROF, and worst of all an ungodly slow reload cycle despite using a detachable magazine. It reloads nearly as slowly as the MG34, and it’s not like it’s justified by some super complex method of operation, your player character is just animated to take his sweet time reloading this thing. Frankly I’m fine with everything else, but for God’s sake buff the reload speed.
It has some advantages: namely the sprint factor, sight picture, and ADS speed. But that kind of all goes out the window when your reload takes place over a geological timescale. I’m not advocating for BAR M1918A2 levels of reload speeds, but I don’t think it’s unreasonable to let the Charlton reload in something like 3.5 seconds empty/2.8 seconds with a round in the chamber instead of the 4.7!!!/3.23 that it’s currently at.
