And I fully support the idea of increasing the recoil of SF rifles. It’s bizarre no matter how you look at it and only causes powercreep.
It’s funny that at most you’ll be dealing with a squad of 4 Assaulters and yet you get 9 Riflemen with Automatic Rifles. Who’s really the victim here
I lean towards moving AR to the Assault class
The fact that they changed them to auto on default shows they’re more closer to the Assault family even though they’re more accurate and controllable in SA with A being an option. I did prefer them in SA
- This game was never historical
- Stay in br3 bruh, lol
- noone is stopping you from larping regardless, if you care about being effective while larping, you aren’t doing it for the historical accuracy
SF rifles aren’t really the problem here, it’s perks allowing you eliminate recoil and turn them into laser beams. The game was never built around everyone having vitality and 50%+ recoil reduction and etc etc on every single soldier, and it shows especially clearly in BR5.
This is a bad take. If I remember correctly, Stalingrad avt was the source of recoil modifiers on SF rifles, and the change spread to m2 and Berlin avt later. Both fg42 and mp43 were nerfed from their prime quickly, not to mention the meta back then was very different. Explosive spam ruled over everything.
It is precisely because of the recoil modifiers given to avt and m2 that escalated the full auto spam to the point of no return. Devs can’t fix their weapon balance so every new weapon has become lazerbeam. Fg42, with semi default, terrible dispersion and slow ads speed, just couldn’t compete with body armor avt and m2 with nade pouches, so it first got dispersion and ads buff and then standardized with all other sf rifles post merge.
To further counter your point, avs (and akt to a lesser extent) had been in Moscow since the first major update of the game, and very few player gave a damn about it because how terrible the average Moscow Soviet player was. On the other hand, fg422 and type hei spam was intensified by stacked players in respective campaigns.
Oh, allow me to tell you another story, the tragedy of mkb42 the 0.15 dispersion. The problem is less about weapons themselves but the balance decisions.
How about making it separate BR VI alongside jets and very late-war tanks?
That’s very manipulative of you.
He probably wanted increase dmg of FGs mainly because of soviet body armors - to counter their 10% dmg reduction.
And since this suggestion has literally nothing to do with dmg values, I really don’t know where is the problem.
Or do you think it’s okay when SF rifles are on par/overperforming ARs - which are suppose to be much more limited specialists weapon that only assaulters/medics can use?
I think it’s quite reasonable to give SF rifles some kind of nerf. Currently BR5 is extremely centered about them. SF rifles are belittling any significance of other weapon types.
Ridiculous - quality of live should never be limited for gameplay balance, you always have the option to simply switch to full auto for your entire squad after spawning, but that took 2 -3 seconds.
This is a terrible idea, and its actually wastedwoodsmans fault FG42 got this treatment.
We don’t need to make Semi auto default on Selectfire … we should just have a setting available to prefer semi auto or full auto by default.
