No. 4 Commando was a battalion sized Commando unit of the British Army during the Second World War formed in 1940. Although it was intended to conduct small-scale raids and harass enemy garrisons along the coast of German-occupied France, however towards the late war the unit was also employed as a highly trained infantry assault unit.

Weapon - Patchett Mk. 1
The precursor to what would become the Sterling SMG, which became the standard British sub-machine gun of the post-war era. Prototype versions used the existing Sten Gun magazine, rather than the curved magazine that characterized later post-war variants. Some examples of this weapon were noted to be carried by members of the No. 4 Commandos during WW2 (source)
