British faction again+proposed tech tree

Some of the main arguments against having a separate faction were:

  • limited playerbase
  • lack of weapons
  • lack of profit for enlisted
  • difficulty transferring items from Allied tech tree to British

However, Enlisted is doing better than ever in terms of playerbase. Additionally, join any team is more incentivized so wait times for a game are about 1-5 seconds.

There is also no lack of weapons if you include the whole of the British Commonwealth, and Free French forces as well. Even if the French weren’t included in the British tech tree, they would still have enough weapons for all BRs, with excess weapons to use as premium squads. This means a British faction would be easy to monetize in the long run. In fact, much easier than Japan.

In addition, I tried to limit the amount of US premium weapons I put in the tech tree with the exception of the P14 (T) to avoid controversy between people losing their favorite premium squad. Although, I did get premium weapons from USSR. I justify this because a lot of factions have premium weapons that are in another factions’ tech tree.

I would like to hear your opinions.

Moving on, here is my proposed tech tree. Although I skipped planes, because I don’t know how to rate their BR unless I try it in-game.

Key:

  • Asterix = New weapon
  • Red = Note*
  • Yellow triangle = foldered

Tier I

  • M1917 Enfield - BR2 but I think it should be BR1
  • Enfield P14 (T) - Already a premium squad, but I couldn’t find a low BR sniper, although a M1917 Enfield Sniper could work. I just settled with the P14 though.

Tier II

  • Might have to move the SMLE Mk3 (T) to BR3

Tier III

  • I decided to put the Bazooka because I couldn’t find anything else, but Canada used them from what I found. Additionally the British got some from Lend-Leasing.
  • MAS-44 and Schilt Flamethrower would be a new weapon, I forgot the asterix

Tier IV

Tier V

  • Rieder automatic rifle would be a new weapon, I just forgot to put the asterix in the graphic

As I stated earlier, the British faction would be easy to monetize.

Here are some British premium/event/gold order weapons that are already in the Allies faction:

  • De Lisle Carbine
  • Turner SMLE
  • Farquhar-Hill M1918
  • Owen .45 ACP
  • BSA Model 1929 Thompson
  • Austen Mk1
  • BSA Welgun
  • Lanchester Model 1
  • Lanchester 50
  • Charlton Automatic Rifle
  • Besal
  • Vickers Mk1 No2
  • 100 round Bren (coming in 2 days from this post)
  • Portable flamethrower No2 Mk1
  • Chatellerault M24/29

Here are some British premium/event/gold order weapons that can be added but aren’t in the Allies faction:

  • BR1 Howard Francis machine carbine*
  • M1 Carbine
  • M1 Garand
  • BR2 Lee-Metford Mk2*
  • BR2 Lee-Enfield No.6 MkI*
  • BR4 MAS-40 (25 rnd)*
  • BR5 Huot Automatic Rifle*
  • BR2 Patchett Machine Carbine Mk1 (Sterling SMG)*
  • ETVS*
  • Erma EMP
  • M1918A2 BAR
  • Webley Self Loading Pistol

Some British premium/event/gold order tanks that are already in the Allies faction:

  • A13 Mk2 1939
  • Matilda
  • M24
  • AC1
  • Achilles
  • Sherman IC Firefly
  • Universal Carrier (APC)
  • WD Big 4 (Bike)

Some British premium/event/gold order tanks that can be added but aren’t in the Allies faction:

  • Light Tank Mk7 Tetrarch*
  • Ram Mk2*
  • A38 Valiant*
  • AEC Armored Car*
  • Archer*
  • Excelsior Tank*
  • Thunderbolt Tank*
  • Tortoise Heavy Assault Tank*
  • TOG2*
  • Kangaroo (APC)*
  • M3A1 Halftrack (APC)

Other benefits to adding the British:

  • Allows Enlisted to have more premium squads in rotation and monetize more
  • Fixes historical inaccuracies
  • More diversity: Canada, ANZAC, and France, South Africa plays a bigger role in Enlisted
  • Less bored from playing the same four factions
  • Allows Enlisted to add more fronts like Operation Market Garden, or their own pacific campaign separate from the US
  • More emphasis on British and they get more customization
  • There are a lot more smaller benefits, but they are relatively negligible so I won’t list them.

What about the Americans?

If the British LMGs were removed, then America would have no BR2 LMGs. I propose a new BAR. The M1922 BAR, with -50% sprint penalty, since it is heavier than the other BARs. This will fit in BR2. Or you could just take the M1918 and nerf it into BR2.

And for all the British weapons being “removed” from the US tech tree, just remove them from being purchased like how you did with the MP 717 (r)s and Breda Mod 30s.

Also, for battles where both Americans + British fought, just put the Americans, and British all in the same matchmaking against whoever they are fighting against.

as james keeps saying, that is not planned.

mostly because A, it would require alot of work to separate and remove british items from the tech tree.

B, from a gameplay standpoint, the us don’t have a whole lot when it comes to weapons at low br. it would be boring having to use the same ones ( not to mention, you literally need those weapons to progress ) and you dont get to unlock much because of it.

C, it doesn’t really help anyone as it’s not really worthed. both in terms of players and economy of premiums. because:

D, most of brit equipment is premium. sort of the appeal of it.
they wont just put it in the tech tree likely either.

there are 0 downsides to just keep them where they are.
just like italy inside germany.

Lebel 1886 already exist in game as a legacy Volksstrum squad and its a french weapon not british. So nah not lebel.

Chauchat already exist as a legacy squad too. Moving them will be an insult to veterans who grinded their ass off for it unless if DF can compensate them with gold.

M3 Stuart with flamethrower should be a premium since it has specs to call it premium unlike other factions flamethrower tanks that is pretty shit at defending against other tanks.

USSR had the Mk1 Grant as premium and US had that in their tech tree, so I thought it was ok to put it there

Well it was legacy stuff so its not there anymore. Its just best to leave legacy items since its just gonna brew more trouble from vets here

Not really, matches used to have a lot of people around, chating and doing stuff, like building rallies and tagging enemies, now there is a big silence and non existant teammates… A few guys around here have been trying to create a false sense of “healthy playerbase” but that’s just delusion.

Adding specifically a British tech tree wouldn’t even cause any player base problems since both US players and Brit players could be matched into the same match.

However, this also means a sub tree would achieve the same thing.

Where did you put the Churchill infantry tank series

Some tanks are from the Postwar period, they should not be in Enlisted

It’s not like Italy has weapons comparable to the British.

Its already a premium squad

Thank you for your post.

I like all the suggestions here. It is also good you included the premium/event/gold order weapons since people usually whinge about those.
Glad to see the Enfield P14 sniper since we would need a lower rank sniper and its also what Australians used.

I’m sorry there’s all these haters. As an Australian and general Enlisted fan I really want a separate UK-Commonwealth tech tree. It will allow us to add more Commonwealth and British tech, since the current tree is quite American dominated.

It also allows for much needed British-Commonwealth only maps like Tobruk, New Guinea, Burma, Greece/Crete/Balkans, Norway, along with joint operations like Market Garden, Battle for Italy etc.

Unfortunately haters cant seem to get through their heads that broadening the playable factions (and maps) encourages new players and revitalises the game.

As an Australian I want to play in New Guinea as an ANZAC for example, but also I’m definitely not the only player who is very tired of the same old same old Pacific maps (likewise Tunisia) that just copy paste each other.
I genuinely forgot there was a ‘new’ Pacific map given how similar it was to existing ones.

While I’m okay with Free French weapons, my thinking was more things like the Greek Army (along with Greece/Crete/Balkans maps), Free Polish and Free Czech since all those specifically fought with the British-Commonwealth. That also leaves it open for a French faction (which we have debated for and against elsewhere)

Bedford OY is a good suggestion for APC. Though I have been suggesting the Australian Universal Carrier (which is different to the UC that was an event).

Side note: In order to show the benefits of a separate UK-Commonwealth tree, I would suggest specifically adding a Canadian squad for Ross rifle, Australian for Owen gun, South African for Rieder auto rifle etc.
At the same time from the start players have the ability to choose which nation their soldiers are to be and there would be a default uniform for each. There would also be the ability to further customise these as currently in place.
Australians get slouch hats or digger hats, New Zealanders get lemon squeezers, Indians can have turbans and Id also suggest Scottish uniforms like kilts and Tam O Shanter hat.

Oh and other suggestion for premium squads would be Maori and native Fijian. Maybe pro-British Arabs too later on.

There are different churchill models. The one in the premium squad is churchill 3 so adding other models is ok.

Nice of you to not even bother to mention my main argument.

A separate British TT would mean losing the ability to form mixed line-ups.

That’s not what I meant. Currently, I can put my British squads in the same lineup with my US squads.

I would be robbed of such option with seperate tech trees.

Seperated tech trees are anti player agenda. With naive hopes that F2P players will get more of free British stuff.

Sub faction as the one theorised in the past by @coldestwinter would achieve the same, additional thing to click on the UI isn’t necessary if you want just the commonwealth in the game adding another tech tree line for commonwealth, france alike in the allies tree is easier to implement and less UI clogging and more straight forward for the matchmaking

they do.

just like UK,

IF you go for the proto route like japan did.

That’s only when you play GE when you play US/UK all is fine with Japan also even the soviets have teamplay if you know a bit of Russian sadly with GE the situation is full of solo score players…

Well we will actually get more British stuff you know… and you can have different options Australian and Canadian squads can be put with US and UK can be put with the French so you have even more options for mixed squads simply different same thing can be done with Germany introducing Finnish, Hungarian and other squads to the faction but in the end of the day we dont need to split them completely we can just make separated trees where you will pick will you go the British way or US way and with GE the German way or the Italian way this way we are all happy
