Hope they also add more weapons like the Sten MKV and the Jungle carbine

I’m planning a series of suggestions for additions of British weaponry and vehicles, one for each line (Rifles, MGs, SMGs, and so on). Those are definetly going to be brought up!

Also hope they fix the inconsistencies with vehicle squads, would love to play my british tanks and planes in british squads

Now I kinda wished I had know about this document when I was writing my suggestion, though then I wouldn’t have had the experience I did writing it. Also, would be kind of a boring suggestion of just saying “I want these things already in the files”…

Also absolutely wild that these things are just sitting there doing nothing.

We got soo much unused content. We even got faces and hands for black soldiers, all unused… :frowning:

haha depends which part you are from I spose. I find its more the range of temperature you are exposed to that helps with tolerance (or maybe its just genetics). Working outside anywhere from - 2 to 45 (have experienced as high as 50) degrees celsius…dry heat…

But yeah we know nothing of Canada cold :stuck_out_tongue:

I remember -20 in the Alps and thinking I cant tell the difference from -5 :man_shrugging: (was still obliged to make snow angels in shorts and a wife beater)

Thank you for your post.

Phenomenal research.

I agree with everything here.

Thank you for including Australia & New Zealand and it’s a good point of yours making the devs recognise that the slouch hat for example (as stated an Australian national icon) was actually worn by a number of Commonwealth countries so its really not that niche.

I also really appreciated your paragraph on WHY this is important. Some haters demand that us Commonwealth players just disappear, that everything should focus on USA and USSR and if you dont like it leave.

I myself consider it important and have always wanted to play as an Australian soldier, with a .303 rifle or Owen gun like my great uncles.

It also just adds variety, why people are against that I dont know. We have like 20 different M1 pot helmet variants yet for some reason we arent allowed slouch hats, lemon squeezers, Tam O Shanters, turbans etc.

As you also mention with Scottish soldiers for example we dont even need ‘new’ squads, just some extra appearance options and players can do the rest. I’m rather tired of having to say how easy it is for DF to create Commonwealth uniforms with existing assets. In many cases we dont even need new uniforms, just national headgear. Otherwise with instances like Canada or British India we just need the ability to equip a patch on the shoulder of standard British battledress reading CANADA, AUSTRALIA, INDIA, POLAND etc.

Side note RAF battledress would be cool, iirc they did wear the famous dark blue tunic underneath their flying kit.
This is another case where adding national patches would be great, for example I could take a standard RAF tunic and add an AUSTRALIA patch on the side (better still change the wings to read RAAF but that doesnt bother me too much)

Keep up the good work and I really hope the devs will listen!

They literally could add Australia and New Zealand tomorrow which they really ought to, and over time add more options for other Commonwealth countries.

It is sooooo easy, I can make a new clothing preset in like 5 seconds using modded custom profiles. The code is very simple and mostly just copy-paste

Thank you. Exactly.

Australia and New Zealand is LITERALLY copy paste.

I also always mention how the British officer’s peaked cap from the Sten Mk III premium squad was made freely available so DF cant say ‘premium/event squads only’ for Australian, New Zealand, Chinese etc. squads.

A very thorough and beautiful put together and well constructed British and Commonwealth customisation mega thread. As an Aussie myself it’d be absolutely incredible to see these suggestions come to life and it’d be greatly appreciated without a doubt by so many of us here.

Once again incredible work and I eagerly await for what comes next!

No British uniform option would be complete without a kilt. :yum:

I wanted to focus on gear specificly used in combat, otherwise I’d never be done.
Plus, I wanted all my suggestions to be taken 100% seriously, all the gear I displayed were used extensively in combat and therefor should be added to the game. On the front the kilt had been phased out come WW2, there’s use of them as cerimonial gear but they were discarded come combat missions and only ever very rare anecdotal exceptions of lone men wearing them into battle (as opposed to whole infantry sections or units).

I think the kilt usage would be better represented by a single soldier in a event squad wearing one kind of like the halloween samurai armour for Japan, it wouldn’t me massively out of place, oddballs existed in every military, and you could go ahead and give that highlander a officers sword whilst your at it. :scotland:

It varies a lot in Canada. -20 is very common in winter, nothing much special here… the only problem is it’s a very “humid” cold, which seeps through clothes. (Especially coastal provinces)

Sometimes it’s -30. When the temperature is like that, I don’t get an iced tea as usual.
(Yes, we DO get ice cream and stuff even if it’s -20 out…)
In the central plains it can reach -40.

Then during the summer it can get to 35 degrees, again a very humid heat. The rare times it’s dry it’s fine.
