Bring out American and Soviet Weaponized APCs (from event) of equal balance to the most recent German one

From this most recent event, we saw the addition of a British APC and a German APC.

The British one is basically a joke. It does OK against targets in Tunisia and Pacific, but nothing really too crazy. One could argue that the Tech Tree APC is actually more effective.

Meanwhile, the German one is seen even in high tier fights, being very effective as a whole as both a transport vehicle and a light assault vehicle.

Currently, the Americans nor Soviets have anything even close to this.

Suggestion:

On either the next event or very near future, please bring out a weaponized APC that all players have the chance to get as an event reward.

One that is on par with the German one.

Watch them add the 75 MM GMC M3 as an APC, not a tank destroyer.

You’re using it wrong. Use the Universal Carrier as a little gremlin that’ll just rush into little hidey holes, it’s small and agile. Treat the Boys ATR and Bren on it as a “someone’s in my way to where I’m going” weapon (Bren needs to be able to aim a bit better though tbh)

The point of the post itself though I see no reason as to why not yeah, since devs proved the vehicle doesn’t need to have enough seats for 9 men to be possible

I want the M3 with a center M2 and two M1919’s facing rearward to just do driveby’s in

The last time they decided to give everyone an equivalent, soviet paratroopers had the unique and exclusive mechanic of being equippable with any gun.

Now I definitely know you don’t know how to use APCs. As well as fortifications.

The british one is good though, very low profile and fast so I can arrive to the point hid that thing even in a foxhole

The German one is a joke if you try to use the cannon to attract attention, is underpowered for BR2+, the MG overheat like crazy and the ammo count is low

You shouldn’t use APC as fighting vehicle…

Thinking about it
Universal vehicles are like the American Mouse
Small and fast but no harm
Anti-tank rifles can only penetrate tracks
The other side can shoot passengers on flat ground without any pressure.

The biggest problem is
The vehicle cannot be operated with a rear passenger
He will stop and wait to die

It has 10 smoke shells on top of the other options. It can deal with tanks rather effectively, clear pockets of infantry, then lay down a smoke screen for the team to push.

I had a game earlier where I saw 2 of them lay out a massive line of smoke that stopped our team to provide much fire support, then charged in with multiple squads. They are extremely effective.

More like your team is braindead and get scared off by smoke shells lmao

I have both Pz III N and M8 Scott, both are better than the APC in every capacity except spawning squad, and being BR2 vehicles means I never go high BR and become an useless metal scrapt

Did this with the Universal Carrier

You’re not supposed to use the universal carrier as an offensive vehicle for kills, just use it to get to the point, and use its small size to help conceal it.

From the guy who brought you

We have hot takes such as:

An APC is a spawn point first and foremost. It is neither an assault nor supporting element in a fight.

Using the APC outside of being a dedicated spawn point you’d stash away in a safe corner of the map, you’d have two options.

  1. Fully utilize the safety of grey zones to give you marginal protection from infantry attack
  2. Attempt to use it as an assault vehicle.

The issues.

  • You’d have an ineffectual spawn point in the grey zone where your team is unlikely to choose the spawn point, and if they did, it’d be a long walk to the battlefield.
  • You would be doing a worse job than a tank.
  • You’d unnecessarily attract attention to one of the team’s spawn points.
  • You would literally be in harm’s way. As a spawn point for your team. You would be more valuable than, and far easier to destroy than a tank.
  • Most APCs have a limited traverse of fire. Making them largely unable to deal with threats on their own outside of the passengers doing work.
  • If a competent enemy player sees an APC speeding off, they’d be given a hint as to where your team is spawning from. Something easier to track compared to rallies because vehicles are generally restricted in the places they can go due to map design.

To put it simply- Just because the APC has a weapon, doesn’t necessarily mean it’s a good idea to use it.

In the german event apc’s case, it has a cannon, but said cannon neither has the reload time, the capacity nor the traverse to effectively be used as a supporting platform against a competent team. It is functionally, a worse kwk37 than you’d find mounted on conventional (and lower BR) tanks.

This comes at the tradeoff of being a BR3 vehicle, and harder to maneuver where literally every other APC is at BR2, giving them leeway as to what BR they show up in.

The Universal Carrier is tracked, small and low profile. This makes it the easiest APC to both navigate terrain otherwise inaccessible or difficult to traverse with full-wheeled or half-tracked APCs. It is easy to conceal and even park inside of buildings.

Now tell me.

Were you literally only looking at the size of the cannon mounted on the vehicle when you made a statement as bold as:

Next thing you know, you’ll say carriers with battleship cannons are better than normal carriers because they have cannons.

If this were to happen it’s not exactly a great thing for the Germans considering we’re suffering from what happened last time and we’re still struggling to get most of our veterans back so I don’t think making the Soviet or the Americans a little bit stronger would be a good thing for the Germans.

I have absolutely seen organized groups roll out 2 of these and 2 tanks for a formidable armored column. It was very effective against inexperienced players from 4 guns 75mm firing HE. The funny part was seeing our team end with 30+ vehicle kills
