Bring back the scope for Type 96

Let’s be honest, the Type 96 lmg is not that good at BR3 when it almost always gets to BR5 games against the Johnson LMG, the 1919A6 and few stingers and the Type 100 MG is just a glorified shotgun that can’t hit anything on medium range.

And here lies the question: How to improve it without touching its stats? And what do you know? The answer was in the game already. Give back the 2.5x zoom Type 96 scope and make it usable, unlike before when it was just a cosmetic.

This would make the type 96 more unique unlike now, since now it’s just “a Bren lookalike”. If the scope gets added back it would make the Type 96 (or maybe even99) one of the more unique machine guns in the game.

They haven’t done it because they would have to implement dual render scopes, which will hurt the performance of computers. Here is an explanation of how:

In my opinion, the devs should test how much it will hurt performance. If it is not highly damaging, they should implement dual scopes because the sights look better that way and provide more opportunities for the game.

Can’t they just add a Scoped variant

Nice suggestion! I think Japan should definitely get the Type 92 MG with the 97 round magazine which was a copy of the Lewis Gun and the Type 89 MG in the TT while we are at it.

Damn, and all of this because it’s a periscopic scope?

Yup. I was surprised when I found out about it myself.

Definitely agree with the Type 92, in both 47 and 97 Round pans.

BR III
Type 92 with 47 Round pan

BR V
Type 92 with 97 round pan

Type 89 BR IV?

Why do they have to do dual render when they can just… not? And use the same scope tech they have been using for all scopes in game so far…

because its not a conventional tube, but rather a periscope

what is stopping them from just using the existing sight mechanics anyway

because they need to find a way to somehow show image from the right side of the machine gun when the rear part is looking directly at the magazine?

can they not just code the current scope system to move its origin point accordingly?

can you describe exactly what you mean? so far without a dual rendering system in place i can only imagine that it would either mean placing a camera inside the scope model or old style scope overlay that will be out of place with the rest of the weapons
