I need my helmets. I don’t care about hats unless they’re something like a vehicle crew.
The ability to reduce the damage of pistol caliber weapons is good. Try shooting someone’s head with an SMG only once. They’re more likely to survive.

You don’t need a helmet to survive a headshot from a Nagant, TK, PP or P38 though. You just get downed.

Pistols are crap weapons, and are only trophies.
Do helmets even work in Enlisted? Nah but I have shot someone in the head with an smg to where they buckled, turned around and shot me back.
It seems to be somewhat effective against pistol rounds (you need more shots in the head in order to kill). But might be just pistol damage being too low.
