Bren MK1 vs Bren MK2

Their stats are the same, are there any hidden differences?

In my personal subjective opinion, the MK1 is better. And the Vickers-Berthier is even better, it has no spread when walking.

yes it’s great gun, but it’s sad that we don’t have any Indian squads in the game, and this weapon wasn’t common in the British army.

It really is, but the main difference between the Mk1 and Mk2 is just visual and its just personal choice for the sights.

Mk I has a tiny bit less dispersion and a faster partial reload time, so it’s better

Thanks, I replaced all the MK2s in my army with MK1s and the result was fantastic:

Skip both and go with the Vickers imo.

I would like my British soldiers to carry Bren MK.

even a tiny bit better dispersion will be a benefit in the hands of someone who can control recoil.

a player can control recoil, but cant control dispersion.

No, I think they both equally suck. :yum:

I don’t use either, I ended up buying the Chatellerault off BP a couple years ago and I like it better. I can’t honestly say it’s better, but I prefer it to all the other Allied level two MG’s. I would prefer DF added a BAR to level two, even if it is just a four gun premium or event gun. I only have five total level two MG’ers, so I would have four of them covered with BAR’s and one with the Chatellerault.

But I like both, after a few matches I found that the Bren MK1 has a better sights, and as others have said it has less dispersion.

It may sound strange, but this wasn’t even a defensive mission, it was an attack.

I don’t know why they gave the Allies 5 MGs with magazines on top but didn’t even give them a standard MG. (3 in TT, 1 in the event and 1 in the battle pass)

I think it was the Brits and French, most of the US guns put them on the bottom (where they belong) I believe. :joy:

Of course, the Italians had the Beretta 1918 that had it sticking out the top as well.

Actually  this made a lot of sense.
LMGs are supposed to be operated by a crew of 2-3 guys. Top (and side) mounted magazines allowed the assistant gunner to quickly reload the gun. I read somewhere that good Bren crews could reload is 1-2s.
So if anything, it’s US that was weird with their bottom magazine on BAR that was very inconvenient to reload when on bipod. But that’s what happens when you use automatic rifle as LMG.
