I started playing BR3 soviets again because I noticed they added the ±1 br system (at least I thought so), though it seems to only apply to Soviets and Germans? What’s up with that?

According to the game Soviets and Germans on BR3 can only face enemies that are BR2 - BR4, whereas the Japanese BR3 players can still expect to encounter Pershings. Is this intentional?

Not enough players on some factions to do the optional +1/-1
japan doesnt have enough players so they have ±2 BR. cause japan has ±2 BR, then US also has ±2BR(it is mostly ±1 against germans).
now this is best possible scenario cause in case of not enough players for ±1 BR, game will default to ±2BR
It’s intentional. As other users have suggested, the matchmaking will uptier you if there aren’t enough players in your BR.
That said, be sure to check the squads in your platoon to see if there’s a rogue uptier weapon in your lineup. It happens.
To be clear, the up/downtiering only applies to BR 3 - they can be added to BR1-2 games, or to BR 4-5 games where those are short of players.
Yesterday again I played Germany BR 1, the live information from the start button was BR I-II but again I was facing BR III enemy equipment.
Same thing happened a few days ago.
I know I can be uptiered to I-III, I dont mind, but since the start button information is live, it should say I-III before the battle starts, but it did not.
Seems to me something is not working so well.
It does the same if you choose to “TRY” and play BR3 with the Allies as well. When I try and play BR3 with allies half the time I am punked into a BR5 match, so most of the time I don’t even try and play level 3 Allies, I just play level 5. I don’t have to worry about that if I play Russians or Germans.

Agreed, but I think DF just hurts themselves in the long run with that though since from what I can see with all the complaints I read about being uptier’d, and who knows, maybe that is one reason the Allies and Japanese struggle to get players. It doesn’t take long to see if your trying to play BR3 and you see BR5 weapons scrolling on the kill chart on the right and maybe that causes an instant desertion from some. Who knows
