BR 6, The BR 5 equaliser?

Hey All,

While reading through some of the suggestions here I’ve seen a lot of people for asking for very powerful immediately post war vehicles or vehicles that entered service just before the wars end. Now while these could be fun I would also see these completely destroying the “balance” of the game. Think of vehicles like the IS-3, T28/T95 and the Maus. Plus a large spectrum of others like jet fighters and bombers.

My first thought here was, well this is a terrible idea and doesnt fit the game as well since it markets itself as a semi realistic WW2 shooter. Not to mention the problems you would have balancing these vehicles in the BRs we already have, not to mention the issue of power creep,

But then I had a great toilet idea. Why not a new BR (I know how original of me). My behind a new possible BR 6 would be that by playing BR 6, you readily accept everyone is going to be using more prototype and possibly even post war weapons and pieces of equipment. This having a twofold effect.

  • Satisfying the needs of those that wish to play with more fantasy like vehicles and weapons and just enjoying it for what it is,
  • While encouraging more people to play BR 4 as BR 5 is no longer considered the top dog tier where your just guaranteed to be the top dog and have a frankly unfair advantage over others who maybe even be BR3.

The main gimmick here I suppose is that BR 5 may still face BR 3, while BR 6 can only face BR 5. Hence meaning to play BR 5 becomes like playing BR 3, a famine or feast type deal.

Look sorry for being a bit all over the place, slightly intoxicated but would love to hear others opinions.

Terrible idea since most players want to play a ww2 game, moving beyond ww2 would enrage many players.
It has been discussed countless times that the only way the playerbase is even willing to consider post ww2 things if those are hard locked so BR5 can never ever get uptiered to BR6 so WW2 can stay WW2 and we won’t see Tiger IIs in Korea.

But again most players would rather see more WW2 battlefields explored first before Enlisted moves on if it ever does.

enlisted can only survive if it becomes the best ww2 game. stretching it before reaching that goal will make it a mediocre ww2 and a bad/mediocre cold war game.

more is only good if it comes without downsides. expansion of content that diminishes the average quality of the overall content is a classical marketing mistake.

I think BR 6 is a great idea. But to decompress BR 5 and move the fantasy or most powerful additions up and away from iconic WW 2 pieces.

Also Gives BR 4 some breathing room.

This is more for the technically WW2 vehicles that dont fit elsewhere into the tree. I agree it should stuck to WW2, but it is also true that there is a demand for later war designs that are a bit much for the game as is. Think the jet aircraft and the super heavy tanks.

The reason I mentioned post war was more to expand the possible range of weapons to include things like the 3.7 inch super bazooka and etc. But the main focus of BR 6 here would be to allow those who wish to use the likes of the IS-3 and Maus which while are both of WW2 origin, dont really fit into the current balance.

That they might be, but what can you give Japan or US that is really comparable.
Im not a 100% sure the US tutel would be really up to the task to combat a Maus :mouse2:

I’m with this opinion. BR 6 can be done, but only to decompress BR 5 and never should we go past WW2.
Or idk. wild guess here, but like, make a better BR System? or remove it and change the game to fronts?
I would love it if the game was divided by fronts and only the equipment that appeared on that front will be present. ie, the Pacific Front, the West Europe front, the Eastern Europe Front, the African front. Then we would have less balance problems of [blank] item is not good enough in [blank] BR, change it.

I mean the tutel vs the maus is just the immoveable object vs the immovable object. Guess whoever has the better CAS player wins. The Japanese could get the “production” model of the Ho Ri perhaps. Though as usual, Japan has a struggle for suggestions at higher BRs.

Alternatively, you could limit BR 6 to just the germans and the soviets if your that worried about balance. Not a perfect option but you can only do so much

Guys, what can you decompress?
Nothing other than tanks and SMG.

All SF rifles are a league above semi-autos, you can’t really decompress those weapons.
Aircraft as they are fine.
MGs are mostly fine except for Stinger which has double the ammo it can hold.
Heavy equipment (at, mortar) are fine.

Also what about Japan, Japan is already scrapping the barrel with 5 BRs, it simply can’t fill a 6th BR. It doesn’t even have a BR4 mg or a sniper rifle above BR2. Cmon guys we should solve that first.

Well, I could see moving on to the Cold War eventually. Although things stand right now there entire nations (China, France, Hungary, etc.) and entire campaigns (Kursk, Italy, Burma, etc.) that haven’t even been added. I don’t think we need to move on to a new timeline right now, but maybe in 5-10 years though, if the game is still around.

There are many things to be done first. But i think BR 6 is a good goal, accumulated with everything else

At least on the vehicle side, Japan has so much stuff that, could/should be added. (Also doesnt have to go to BR 6)

Not real impressed with the BRs and selections on japanese vehicles (especially air power). They have alot of cool stuff that hasnt been picked

They can’t balance the existing br and you want more xD

Better to release enlisted 2 in Vietnam :v

More vehicles in a FPS game?

Well you do shoot in first person…in the vehicle :stuck_out_tongue:

more meant to help balance BR V since lord knows it needs a little help there.

in my opinion, Japan never should’ve been above BR 3 or 4.

Who will be the BR 6 equalizer then?
This is no different than just making 4 and 5 battle only.

BR 6 hopefully, since BR 6 will be more open to the rarer prototype vehicles or vehicles from WW2 that might not have seen combat, something you struggle to do with BR 5 while keeping a strictly WW2 roster. Hopefully meaning BR 6 here would be far more symmetrical and a level playing field, while BR 5 and below can play with the more fun asymmetrical elements.

Good examples here are the appropriate counters to certain vehicles like the KTH. But this allows BR 5 as well to be more of a dynamic BR as well, where you may now struggle in an uptier or dominate in a downtier instead of just always being downtiered.

If BR 6 can face BR5 then 6 will always be the higher tier and have the advantage, yes? No different than BR 4 vs BR 5. Saying you want a BR 6 for different equipment is fine, but your point doesn’t make any sense because it’s the same thing as we have now if they just made it a hard rule that BR 5 doesn’t play BR 3.

On a seperate note, I’m quite upset that U.S. is the only faction that puts BR 3 into the BR 5 que. Literally no others do this. WTF dark flow?

One thing is for sure, if this game is ever going to leave WW2 it shouldn’t be for a looooooooong looooooong time. If it was up to me I’d say it should never leave WW2. It truly is a great WW2 sandbox shooter

There are so many battles, weapons, and vehicles that have yet to be added. Not to mention even prototype and experimental vehicles
