24 hours ago update 5.1.76 was supposed to have fixed the bug that caused joining a wrong BR battle.
10 hours ago I played USA BR 2 and the enemy was BR 4 at least (Pz. IV J = BR 4).
I only play USA BR 2 so no mistake there.
My game is up to date.

I had the opposite in BR II Japan, we had faced US much higher, as well this afternoon for me, will find link, bit later
Ok my bad, think it was a BR III tank?, in right hands, thought it was maybe higher due to Anti tank gun, just bouncing off tank.
BTW, I remember about 6 months ago the developer saying that matching in BR was a soft rule and that if there were not enough players, there could be a game between BR1 and BR5, but when did that go away?Does anyone know?
From what Helper has said recently, it seems to me that such matching would never take place…
If what the helper says is correct, then the OP’s matching is indeed a bug… I would like to know dev’s view on whether this is a bug or if in fact such a thing could happen.
I do not know what the rules are for this game. Somehow the minor rules have changed, and I can’t find anyone who can officially explain to me if that is because the specs have changed or if it is a bug that is not working correctly.
Weapons that are BR3 in the tech tree are actually BR2, and vice versa.
It would be nice if there was a page somewhere that summarized the rules.
4 J is Tier 4, but it’s actually BR 3.

Check the Tiers more closely, there is plenty of this BR dodginess throughout ! PzIV J is not the only one.

Since I have the USA tree maxed out I didnt look at it closely.
Seems really odd to me to put weapons and vehicles in tiers and then in different BR.
The whole tree could just be registered as BR imho.
Its a retardation that’s crept in from War Thunder, that shit is all over the place.
I guess this is the answer, BR3 plays with both BR1-2 and BR4-5
its the same with guns, but yeah a reworked tree might be a good idea, ect. in some cases you research a BR3 weapon and then a BR2 weapon after that.
Nah the point was that there are BR III Planes in Tier 4, or BR III Weapons in Tier II - that’s what he was referring to.
This usually is the case when the BR was altered in any way.
The 4J was initialy BR 4 but was changed into BR 3 at the first BR adjustments.
My guess it is just easier and safer to only touch the BR and not the Techtree itself as you might risk breaking the entire tech tree accidantly by moving the gear around. (example the research lock preventing skipping etc.)
Nothing else had been moved so far because of BR so expect it only to get more confusing with time. XD
Pz4j is Br3 but is placed in Tier4, the bug of the wrong matchmaking is fixed, if BR2 play aganaist BR4+ is because there is a lack of player in the faction and all Br are used for fill a battle
